Perfect for friends or families bringing two small canine companions, it’s in the heart of the popular fishing town and an ideal base for outdoor adventures, water-based activities and foodie explorations – and close enough to Canterbury to get some shopping in, too.
Brick-built and set over three storeys, this elegant cottage is beautifully co-ordinated and full of charming touches. Pop your pups’ bowls down on the tiled floor in the kitchen/diner, a bright and breezy room which is superbly equipped with all you’ll need for holiday cooking, including a coffee machine and a wine cooler. This is a lovely space in which to linger around the dining table before heading into the lounge where you can relax, perhaps enjoying a favourite movie on the Smart TV. The first of the three double bedrooms is on the first floor, boasting a Smart TV and gorgeous sea views. On this level you’ll also find the family shower room with its pretty mosaic tiling, and a second, separate WC. The remaining two bedrooms are on the top floor, with sloping ceilings and dormer windows. Savour the sea air in the courtyard garden, where you can dine alfresco (perhaps grilling some local seafood on the BBQ) or just sit back in the wicker furniture and enjoy spending time together.
While in Whitstable you’ll definitely want to try its famous oysters - there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within metres of your door. Less than half a mile away, pebbly West Beach welcomes pups all year round and is also the place to take a picnic and watch the sunset. Stroll slightly further along the coast (about a mile) to reach Seasalter beach, another great spot for a game of fetch.
