This beautiful holiday let overlooking a medieval moat offers a sense of history, with contemporary comfort and style. This dog-friendly holiday home is set in the grounds of Wattisham Hall and sleeps four guests, plus one four-legged companion. Ideal for a family or friends sharing, the spacious accommodation includes your own hot tub on the private, enclosed patio, with views across the moat. There is a large games room and an outdoor play park for young children, shared with other properties on site. The peaceful countryside beyond the moat has a wealth of footpaths, perfect for canine walkies.

The cottage is full of character, with exposed original beams throughout. Soft colour tones, tiled floors and wooden furniture complement the property’s country charm. In the bright, roomy, open-plan living area, French doors open to the patio. Comfortable seating with views of the moat, a cosy dining area and a neat kitchen make this a lovely, welcoming space. The light-filled bedrooms comprise a twin and a delightful, zip-and-link super-king-size, while a pretty family bathroom completes the layout. The patio is a great spot for relaxing, with the hot tub, garden furniture and a stone-built BBQ.

Visit Hilly Ridge Alpacas for a gentle walk alongside these photogenic animals through the beautiful countryside around the village of Wattisham. While pets cannot join in, the family-run farm will direct dog-sitters to great walks on the doorstep. Sample local produce at traditional pubs in the pretty village of Bildeston (2 miles), where there is also a general store, post office and bike shop. Admire fine timber-framed buildings in the historic High Street of Needham Market (5 miles). Nearby Needham Lakes offers walks, fishing and picnic spots. Pets on leads are welcome at picture-postcard Kersey Mill (6 miles) set in 18 acres of beautiful gardens.

Lovely family weekend followed by a relaxing weekend afterwards. Fantastic place to stay. We will be recommending (but not to too many people!) We hope to come back.
