Located in the peaceful Yorkshire village of Gillamoor on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. With the heather-clad landscape of the North York Moors, the wooded countryside of the Howardian Hills and the rugged Yorkshire coastline all within reach, you and your dogs will be spoilt for choice when it comes to walks. You are also close to many of Yorkshires prettiest towns/villages and after a busy day exploring, you can eat out at the village pub within a mile of the property.

With its vaulted ceilings, timeless furnishings and natural materials, this cottage oozes understated elegance and country-chic. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is bright and airy with its light walls and high ceiling, yet the wood burner at one end creates a cosy lounge with comfortable armchairs to sink into of an evening. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with a dining table for two. Also on the ground floor, you’ll find the sophisticated super king-size bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower room. The charming courtyard garden is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or al fresco meal.

With plenty of walks on your doorstep, you don’t need to go far, but the surrounding countryside is teeming with walking trails and picturesque views. Blakey Ridge (8 miles) for example has some of the most stunning views in the country. Local towns/villages make great starting and finishing points for walks as they all have a selection of independent shops and eateries. For example, artisan crafters’ centre, Hutton-le-Hole (3 miles), art and antique-hunters’ favourite, Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles) and foodies’ haven, Helmsley (8 miles). Further afield, Whitby and Scarborough (both within 32 miles) are popular seaside resorts steeped in history.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage which is very well equipped. Nice welcome pack for humans and dogs which went down well. It was nice to stay somewhere where we didn't have to drive far for lovely walks and excellent country pubs. Plenty of good shops in the local towns and villages, would definitely go back.

Perfect for us and our 2 dogs. Super king bed and power shower was a big plus. Host very accommodating for our arrival as our dog is on special diet. Good walks nearby and lanes safe to walk as very quiet. Pub short walk up road where we had 2 good meals. The courtyard garden was a lovely sun trap. Our old dogs were happy to mooch around but a veryRead more small dog could possibly squeeze through bars of gate. We would happily come back, thank you. Hide
