Pet-friendly holiday cottages & accommodation in Lymington
Lymington is a pretty sailing resort perched on the shores of a coastal inlet at the edge of the New Forest. With deep water access to The Solent, there are two large marinas, Berthon and Haven and a further two sailing clubs, RLYC and Lymington Town in the immediate area. The charming High Street is characterised by its classic Georgian looks, with cobbled streets and cosy pubs and eateries, it’s a comfortable fit for those looking for a relaxing British holiday cottage break.
The dog-friendly town is an excellent base to explore the New Forest and Hampshire, and to take a day trip from Lymington Pier to the Isle of Wight by ferry. The town has curiosity around every corner, not least the Old Town Quay which still acts as a working fishing port. The town has a beautiful walking trail for you, and your hound, that passes through a large nature reserve, Moses Creek, Eight Acre Pond, the marinas and back to the High Street with its array of independent shops and eateries. Be sure to include a visit to Beaulieu Motor Museum and Estate during your stay in Lymington. It really is a must-see for ‘petrol heads’ everywhere – dogs are welcome throughout the grounds.
