Pet-friendly self-catering accommodation in Leicestershire

Leicestershire is set in the heart of England, and there is a cornucopia of dog-friendly places to visit on your dog-friendly self-catering holiday in Leicestershire. The largest city is Leicester, which draws in visitors from all around for its superb shopping prospects that include a high number of independent shops. Dogs are welcomed into many shops nowadays but always ask at the door if you are allowed.

There are fantastic prospects for a day out with the hound – one of the most interesting places are the canal walks at Foxton Locks. It’s a very peaceful area to watch the colourful narrowboats drift by! Keep your hound on a firm lead if you want to photograph the regal deer at Bradgate Park. There are around 400 red and fallow deer in the park (avoid taking your pet in October – as it’s rutting season). If you like old trains, climb aboard a locomotive with your dog on the Battlefield Line that runs between Shackerstone and Shenton. Dogs love trains and it’s a lovely way of seeing the Leicestershire countryside in extreme comfort.

Leicestershire is home to the most dog-friendly town in the UK, Melton Mowbray, and this is partly down to Melton Country Park’s activity trails for pets and their owners. There is an assault course for animals and it's been a big hit. Now Melton Mowbray is just as famous for being a pet-friendly holiday destination as it is for its pork pies and Stilton cheeses.

If you’re looking to explore this diverse part of the Midlands, whisk yourself and your furry friend away to our dog-friendly accommodation in Leicestershire. Each of our Leicestershire self-catering cottages has been paw-picked to guarantee a top dog holiday! We have a wide choice of pet-friendly self-catering accommodation to suit your needs whether you are holidaying with your partner, family or friends.
