Sleeping ten guests and two fun-loving hounds, this charming cottage in rural North Norfolk sits in the peaceful village of Syderstone, by open fields, so you can enjoy country walks and cycle rides as soon as you arrive. It would be easy to stay and simply relax in this peaceful spot, though Beethoven and Daisy are bound to be greedy and request full-day trips. There’s a shop for essentials nearby (5 miles). The market town of Fakenham offers further shops, pubs, and eateries (7.5 miles).

Step up one external step into this historic property which has contemporary country-style interiors. Unwind in the cosy living room by the SmartTV, and toasty wood burner. If you need a break from hound-begging, there’s a relaxing crow’s nest (accessed by cottage-style stairs) where you can read a favourite book. If that doesn’t work, step into the beautiful timber-beamed kitchen to source canine-worthy treats. As night falls, you’ll find two bedrooms on the ground floor. There are three further bedrooms, including a twin zip and link, and some lower ceiling areas upstairs. Outside, the spacious enclosed lawned garden and sunny patio are ideal for children and four-legged friends to enjoy.

Canine companions will love the beach huts on the western shores of Wells-next-the-Sea, a popular spot for canine networking (9.5 miles). Explore Holkham Estate (9 miles) abundant with acres of pinewoods, gardens, a boating lake and a wide sandy beach for nomadic paws (11 miles). Enjoy a wildlife safari from Morston Quay and Blakeney Point (15.5 miles) where you can spot seals. Go shopping in the pretty market towns of Fakenham (7.5 miles) and Burnham Market (7 miles). And discover the off-road countryside cycle route from Sandringham Visitor Centre to Bircham Windmill.

One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. Plenty of space for everyone in our party of 8. Comfy beds, extremely well equipped with gadgets, the coffee maker was a real hit, and lots of crockery, cutlery etc. Excellent location for the coast and inland places of of interest. A very attractive cottage , well equipped with comfortable beds, with space for 6 people to spread out. Very pretty well kept garden and beautiful views from the lounge/diner. Reasonable wifi. The Crow's Nest was a great hit with the children.

Lovely property we had a few issues but hopefully these are easily sorted. Garden room a real sun trap which leads out onto a large secure garden,ours dogs loved it. We would certainly stay here again.

The cottage was great for two of us and our two dogs. The gardens are enclosed so our four-legged friends could not escape. The location is excellent in terms of being able to walk to the local common and also to drive to places like Brancaster, Wells, Holt and Sheringham. It was usually peaceful (the Air Force sometimes flew over at an unsociable Read morehour!) and the hammock in the back garden was especially welcome for lounging in the sun. The Wi-fi was also excellent. Wed definitely return. Hide
