This beautiful cottage is great for couples wanting a relaxing escape in the country. With a romantic slipper bath and a cosy wood-burner surrounded by rolling countryside, this is the perfect holiday.

Situated on the edge of the village, this cottage benefits from rolling countryside views from the very back garden, which means there is so much walking to be had. For those who prefer life on two wheels the nearby Manifold and Tissington trail are popular scenic routes. The busy market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are both a short drive away, as is Buxton with its famous opera house and stunning Georgian architecture. The Heights of Abraham with unrivalled views and cable car, the ever-popular town of Bakewell, the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall and even Alton Towers Theme Park for thrill seekers, are all within easy reach.

The cottage welcomes you into the open-plan lounge/diner, you can’t miss the sumptuous sofa with recliners built in at each end, just waiting for you to make yourself at home and put your feet up and take advantage of the Smart TV with catch up or Blu-ray with sound bar providing all your viewing needs. The beamed ceiling and stone fireplace with wood burner, helps to bring some of the cottages’ character to life. There is a beautiful country kitchen with wonderful countryside views and charming exposed stone, with electric oven and hob, fridge and freezer everything you need for a home away from home stay. On the first floor the cottage boasts a king-size bedroom, which has had no expense has been spared when it comes to a good night’s sleep as the sumptuous memory foam mattress provides a heavenly comfort you will find hard to leave, and romantic freestanding bath, a real treat together with flat screen Smart  TV . The spacious en-suite shower room presents a large enclosed shower and WC.

Outside the pretty courtyard garden which is fully enclosed is shared with the neighbouring holiday cottage. There are various seating spots and a bistro set with charcoal BBQ to enjoy those warm summer nights with rolling views. In the shared outbuilding there is a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is one driveway parking space shared with the cottage next door which is first come first served and approximately 20 metres further up the road there is a communal parking area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful cottage in an idilic location! The cottage itself is so well decorated and really makes you feel at home. Our dogs loved their stay, and it was so useful to have a field at the back to let them have a run around in. I would definitely recommend friends and family and we would love to visit again!

A fantastic find in a wonderfully scenic part of the country. The cottage is snug and cosy and beautifully kept inside. The view from the back kitchen window is so relaxing. We will definitely return.

A lovely cottage, although there was a road at the front it wasn't a busy one so didn't bother us. The views from the back garden were lovely. Very relaxing time.

Lovely cottage well presented. No complaints. It is on a quiet road unfortunately some cars do speed pass. Dogs enjoyed their stay.

We chose the property as it was dog friendly, had lovely outside space, all mod cons inside and out, with spectacular views and we were not disappointed. It was a home from home and we would like to revisit at some stage.

We had an amazing time at Thor's View. We only wish we booked more time there! It instantly felt like a home away from home, and were planning our next visit already. Having Amazon fire stick and Netflix was a lovely surprise for the 1 day it rained. Couldn't recommend enough!

Lovely comfortable cottage,great bathroom and shower.wonderful views. Downside is noisy road out front Shared garden beware if you want some level of privacy and peace and quite as you never know who will be your neighbours....we was not lucky with ours...
