This detached former farmhouse has been thoughtfully designed and no attention to detail has been forgotten making this a truly unforgettable retreat in stunning rural surroundings.
The grand property sleeps ten guests and two woofers, making it the perfect location for a large family gathering or getaway with friends. There’s plenty to see and do in the area, including the breathtaking Cheddar Gorge (30 miles) and the ancient town of Glastonbury (19.5 miles), with its spectacular abbey and rich history. However, it will be the property’s fabulous 2-acre garden that really gets the hounds’ tails wagging.
This 19th-century detached farmhouse has bags of space for you and the pups. The large entrance hall can house all your walking gear, and from here steps lead to the beautiful lounge. With views out over the garden and a cosy open fire, it’s the perfect place for you and your trusty four-legged companions to curl up after an action-packed day. Doors open from here to outside, so on a warm day, the furballs can potter in and out to the garden. There’s plenty of room for the dog beds in the large kitchen/breakfast room; gather here in the morning to plan your itinerary, whilst admiring the panoramic views across the garden. The enclosed grounds are a real doggy delight, with huge sloping lawns on which to play and run around.
Pack a picnic and spend the afternoon at Glastonbury Abbey, thought to be the burial place of King Arthur. Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the 36 acres of parkland. If the hounds have a head for heights, journey to Cheddar Gorge. Take the dramatic clifftop walk before heading underground to admire the stalactites in the caves. There are some great walks at Stourhead National Trust (11 miles away), taking in the beautifully landscaped gardens, magnificent lake and classic temples. Dogs are welcome after 2pm March to November, and any time the rest of the year.
