Somerset’s hidden delights are waiting to be sniffed out, with peaceful wildflower meadow strolls to steeper climbs and wooded hilltops with spectacular views. Wander the sandy stretches of coastline hand-in-hand as your pup runs free along the shoreline. You will be on holiday time before you know it, from garden sun-bathing to cosy nights snuggled up on the sofa. Watch the flames in the wood burner flicker as your four-legged friend dozes at your feet, a perfect hideaway.

Entering the property up some stone steps, you are welcomed into this stunning single-level cottage with rustic touches and charm, including exposed beams and wooden floors throughout. And there is no need to worry about muddy paws with a washer/dryer on hand. Enjoy a quiet breakfast in the sun-drenched open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner as you plan the day’s activities. Romantic meals will be plentiful with a well-equipped kitchen to show off some gastronomic flair. Throw open the patio doors on a sunny day and read a book on the raised seating area overlooking the shared courtyard. A private garden approached via a path is perfect for sizzling a sausage or two.

The Mendip Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can climb and discover the legends of the Glastonbury Tor (7 miles), an iconic and spiritual magnet. Experience the fresh salty air 15 miles away at Burnham-on-Sea, where you can walk the hind legs off your hound when there are no seasonal restrictions. Visit the awe-inspiring cliffs of Cheddar Gorge, 13 miles away, where all visiting hounds are welcome to experience the caves and tearooms - they even have water bowls outside the shops.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cosy cottage in a central location. Spotlessly clean, kitchen is fully equipped and a very comfy bed, what more can you ask for.

A great little cottage with all the facilities you could need. Very comfortable and tastefully furnished and decorated. Loads of useful info from the owner (in folders and in person). A fabulous stay, with great hosts. A stay in a absolutely gorgeous location, with a beautifully converted Diary, where you truly felt you could be at home and relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Old Dairy , the cottage is perfect for a couple , very comfortable and a peaceful oasis . We (and our dog Herbie) were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and Julia and her family are great hosts.

Beautiful well equipped spotlessly clean cottage an the owners Julia and Tim are friendly and welcoming.Fabulous garden with bbq, firepit and garden furniture (not enclosed if you have a Dog, but the owners have a beautiful Labrador who my vizsla enjoyed playing with). We have just stayed at this lovely cottage which is done to a very high standard and would definitely stay here again. It is set in a beautiful and very quiet location. There are nearby walks of different lengths from the flat ones at nearby Hams RSPB to Glastonbury Tor. The owners are very friendly and happy to offer advice on good pubs to eat at Read moreor places to visit. It is in easy reach of Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral and Frome. RHS Rosemoore is further away but well worth a visit. Hide

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Old Dairy! The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the property was extremely comfortable and well-equipped. The location of The Old Dairy was perfect as there was lots to do and see nearby, including quite a few National Trust properties which is handy as we are members. The Old Dairy was lovely. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Great location for getting out and about. Also the Ashcott inn was near by and walkable. Great food and very dog friendly. Worth a visit to Wells cathedral, which is also dog friendly. Simply fab! Stunning cottage in extremely well kept grounds. Waking up to birds singing and no traffic noise at all. Just perfect for a very tranquil break. Location is ideal to explore towns as well as the coast. Owners are very friendly, ready to help if needed and discrete.

Just got back from a long weekend at the old dairy . It was such a perfect holiday , the surroundings were picturesque and the barn had everything we needed . It was modern and well equipped.
