This truly delightful property nestles in the grounds of the owners home, has been lovingly fitted and furnished in a contemporary country style and provides a perfect rural retreat for families and couples alike.
If you’re after a rural getaway in stunning Cornwall, you can’t go wrong with this pretty converted barn near Bude. Picture your pets running along the shore, their little ears flapping, and chasing seagulls on scenic clifftops. At night, they can doze contentedly by the wood burner dreaming of fish and chip suppers. The house is surrounded by 10 acres of pasture land where you can meet sheep, chickens and ducks and take your lucky canines for runs around the lake. With space for up to four humans and two waggy-tailed companions, this holiday home is perfect for a small family or group of friends.
The property has been beautifully renovated in a modern country style and has a striking colour scheme of black, grey and white. Wood features heavily throughout, both in the oak ceiling beams and in the decked terrace and seating area outside. The open-plan living area is perfect for relaxing with your fellow guests, either enjoying sit-down meals looking over the garden or snuggling up on the sofas with the dogs curled at your feet. Outside, sizzle up a feast on the BBQ on warmer evenings, perhaps playing table tennis while the dogs play with their holiday bones.
You’ll be in a remote location right near the border into neighbouring Devon. There are plenty of opportunities for great walks in the surrounding area. In nearby Bude (10 miles), take the dogs for a walk over the cliffs, along the sandy Summerleaze Beach or up to Compass Point, a 19th-century former coastguard lookout. Dartmoor National Park (23 miles) is another great option for pet-pleasing trips – take a packed lunch, a picnic blanket and Bailey’s favourite chewy ball to make a day of it.
