Perfect for couples and walkers, get away from it all in this remote location surrounded by water and wildlife, situated close by to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Discovery Centre.

Sniff out adventure in Yorkshire’s very own Land’s End, padding through the ever-changing landscape surrounding beautiful Spurn Point. This peninsula curves between the North Sea and the Humber Estuary and is home to an abundance of wildlife, making it top dog for walkies. Cosy and comfortable for two puppers and four well-behaved humans, this property is the ideal base for adventures galore and you’ll even receive a warm welcome in the form of tasty treats from the helpful owners.

Set on the first floor and accessed via a flight of stairs, your abode has some seriously epic views best enjoyed over a cup of tea. Scratch behind Fido’s ears and recline on the sofas in the cheerful lounge and perch at the handy drop-leaf table for your meals. You’ll have everything to hand for whipping up a feast in the kitchen, but after a particularly muddy walk, the bathroom will likely be your first stop for cleaning paws or just enjoying a pamper. When the day is done, settle down and recharge your batteries in one of the snug bedrooms. You’ll have ample outside space for drinks in the evening sunshine, and there’s a useful washing machine in an outbuilding.

The nature reserve and Spurn Point itself may be off-limits to canines due to the sheer amount of birdlife, but you’ll still be able to discover the best bits of this unique location on foot and by paw. Nose around the friendly Discovery Centre and follow the signposted routes northwards towards the dog-friendly beach to frolic in the waves. The Kilnsea Wetlands circular route is also great fun and pup approved when your pedigree chum is on a lead, so they’ll be able to experience the iconic natural playground in all its glory.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a 2ft 6in twin on request)
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher
  • Utility area with washing machine (located in outhouse)
  • Travel cot and highchair available

  • Shop 10 miles, beach and pub within 1 mile
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

Very pleasant stay in a well-located cottage near to Spurn Head National Nature Reserve. Numerous walks on the doorstep and a few yards away from the coast. Property is nicely-appointed, with plenty of space and adequate facilities. Only downside is that it is very cold and the electric heaters aren't efficient.

We did enjoy our stay, and love it's closeness to the beach and nature reserve. We watched the sun rise, twice! We also saw waxwings - beautiful! Thank you.

A perfect location for a birding holiday and great to be able to support YWT at the same time. Comfortable, well-equipped cottage and we'd definitely come back here.

Fantasticly placed for the beach, maybe a 1 min walk. The beach is beautiful, sand and cobble. Lots of car parking space at the property. The stairs up to the flat are steep and deep, also some deep steps between the kitchen and living area. Not fit for anyone with mobility issues. Absolutely fantastic location, meters from a huge beach which the kids absolutely loved. Lovely comfortable upstairs flat. The discovery centre just down the road has a great cafe and put on some activities for kids when we stayed (school holidays).

We were disappointed that there is some renovation taking place while still being let so were met with the overpowering smell of wet plaster. However the sashes on half the windows were broken so could not be opened to alleviate the smell. The secure outside area was not as advertised and was overrun with weeds but after complaining this was strimmRead moreed. There was no welcome pack as mentioned in previous reviews. Although the cottage was a disappointment we did enjoy the area. Hide

Absolutely stunning location and a good sized property close to the wildlife sanctuary. It is less than 5 minutes to the beach and has excellent walks nearby. At the visitor centre which is only 5-10 minutes walk, a great selection of food and drink is available. The breakfast was fantastic and there was a great selection of vegan options. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location in the wetlands. The beach is a minute from the door and wetlands wildlife not much further. If you want peace and to get away from the hubbub, this is your ideal place. All the amenities you need are here but do make sure you bring all your provisions as the nearest big supermarkets are 10 miles away.

A great location for visiting Spurn. Its only a short walk to beginning of the walk to Spurn Point. Staying here also helps the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust continue the important work they do. We would recommend the safari trip run by the trust on the Unimog, good fun and very informative.

Brilliant location for birding and walking around Kilnsea and Spurn. Quite a spacious flat above the YWT offices; pretty well equipped and comfortable even on a wet pin down day.

The cottage was excellent. Clean, spacious and fully equipped. Wifi was excellent- having a teenager meant this was obviously critical! Make sure you bring your food as there are no shops on the doorstep although Tesco and Aldi are only 20 minutes away. Being yards away from the beach meant we were never off it. Do take time to explore the bird sanRead morectuaries and also the lighthouse at the end of Spurn, it's well worth it. Hide

If you want an away from it all break this is the place for you ! Excellent for taking a dog with plenty of walking routes and the beach is literally 50 yards away. Buy your food/supplies on the way as no shops. Local pub serving is a 5 minute walk and well worth it with average prices around 10 for a meal. Steak Pie/Curry/Fish & Chips etc. The walRead morek to Spurn Point is difficult as the road has been washed out in parts but very doable and worth it but it is a 3 hour round trip so be prepared !
