Deep in the countryside, far removed from the bustling streets of popular Scottish towns, this traditional hunting lodge is a comfortable base for human and hound alike. Discover the rugged Highland scenery of wild hills and mountains, scampering along the shores of Loch Stack and throwing sticks for Fido to chase. There is a plethora of activities available nearby such as canoeing, fishing and cycling, and when the day is done, you’ll return to a roaring fire and a hearty supper fit for the entire pack: all 13 of you along with your two beloved canines.
The property is impressive from the outset and, when you step inside the vast entrance hall, you’ll immediately notice the wooden panelling, antique furniture and traditional accessories. Three lounges provide relaxing spaces and snoozing spots for all, and the farmhouse-style kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook up a storm. Celebrate special occasions in the dining room and kick back with your morning coffee to appreciate the loch views from the windows. There are seven elegant bedrooms scattered between the two floors, four of which have en-suite washing facilities; the remainder share a shower room and a bathroom. Outside, the stunning surroundings beckon for walkies and your private garden is a treat for cocktails at sunset.
Stroll down to the loch and stretch all four limbs, or venture further afield to enjoy challenging hikes up Ben Stack, 0.5 miles away. Cast your line and catch wild salmon on the River Laxford by prior arrangement or grab your binoculars in the hope of glimpsing eagles, deer and otters on your travels. Your nearest food shop is 10.5 miles away, so be sure to stock up before you head home.
