This is a wonderful property in a lovely location with excellent equipment. There is a really good log burner, which is a must to supplement the central heating in the original church area in the colder weather.

This was our second visit this year and it was as wonderful as the first! It's a fabulous property, very well-equipped kitchen, lovely location, warm and comfortable and full of character! Don't forget to buy your eggs from the farm next door!

Ideal quiet location in Carlton close to Helmsley. Quirky and unusual property which was very comfortable, warm and restful. Owners have kept a lot of the original features in the church which was lovely to see and explore.

Wonderful location and an amazing, quirky property. Very well appointed kitchen, a wet room and separate bathroom. The log burner was perfect for cooler evenings when it was raining outside. Perfect situation for Helmsley: it felt like the middle of nowhere, but the town was just a two minute drive. A beautiful, well equipped restoration/conversion. We were a party of four adults and were very comfortable. Our friends (65+) slept very comfortably on the sofa bed and we appreciated having a shower room and bathroom. Two sets of tables and chairs, and two double sofas were a boon as games of Scrabble could be underway int the kitchen without disRead moreturbing film viewing or artwork taking place in the nave. The location is idyllic, only regret was not taking the dog due to free range chickens. Hide

A lovely, quirky holiday let in a very nice quiet area just outside Helmsley. The chapel was very comfortable with everything we needed for a lovely holiday. The garden, although enclosed, was not secure enough for our two small dogs. A great base for exploring a wonderful part of the country.

We originally chose this place because it looked quirky and fun, but we were also delighted with how modern and well-equipped everything was - St. Aidans has the best and most well-equipped kitchen in any cottage we've stayed at. It's also in a stunning and peaceful location. How many people can say they've stayed in a 19th century church? Loved itRead more. Hide

This is a really lovely property and a great conversion! The best-equipped kitchen I've known in a self-catering place! Beautiful area, lots to do, but if (when!) it rains, St Aidan's is just a lovely place to hang out! Will be returning.

St. Aidans is a essentially a retreat from the hurly burly of modern life. Waking up to chickens. Sitting by a log fire. Peaceful sleeps. And world class walking (season dependent) all make this a very special place.
