Go for long walks along windswept sandy beaches from this superb holiday home just outside Druridge Bay. This quiet location is ideal for a relaxing break for up to eight people and two canines, whether you’re meeting up with friends or spending time with your extended family. With luxury features like a seven-seater hot tub, wood burner and American-style fridge/freezer, you can holiday in style here. But the stunning Northumberland coast is the real jewel in the crown – and will definitely get the paw print of approval from your eager pups.
Hang your outdoor gear and dog leads up in the historic archway before stepping inside this sleek and stylish contemporary property. You have a choice of two lounges to relax in, both with Smart TVs, while the spacious kitchen/diner is a brilliant social space for everyone to get together. Kickstart your day with an espresso shot from the coffee machine, and perch on the bar stools for breakfast while your hounds lick their bowls clean. Upstairs, you’ll find four comfortable bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom, where you can enjoy a bubble-filled soak in the free-standing bath. Outside, relax with a holiday read or dine alfresco while your pups explore the enclosed patio garden.
Either walk or drive 2 miles to Druridge Bay Country Park to follow the scenic circular walk around Ladyburn Lake and chase frisbees on the 7-mile stretch of sandy beach that allows canine frolics all year round. If your dogs have their sea legs, take the Puffin Cruise from Amble Harbour (4 miles) to the shores of Coquet Island, home to a huge colony of seabirds. A little further up the coast is Warkworth (4.5 miles), which marks the southernmost tip of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
