With exposed stonework and beams throughout, this cosy cottage offers charming accommodation in a peaceful rural setting, the perfect choice for a romantic getaway.

For the ultimate country retreat, head to this beautiful chocolate-box cottage that is packed full of period features and is set in its own idyllic gardens. A couple accompanied by their four-legged friend will find this property a throwback to another time, but with all the contemporary comforts. It is surrounded by the gorgeous countryside that Cornwall is famous for, with views of rolling hills from the windows.

This gorgeous retreat offers a truly rural experience and the oak beams, rough stone features and a traditional wood burning stove only add to its charm. The lounge/diner is a wonderful setting for quiet evenings in, where you and your canine companion can relax in the warmth of the wood burner. The utility room that joins the kitchen is a great space to exchange muddy wellies for cosy slippers and towel off dirty paws before you settle in for the night. Upstairs, the bedroom is a comfortable king-size and a separate dressing room could be a haven of privacy for a tired Mutley. Outside, the patio and large lawn are surrounded by meadows, a peaceful spot for a BBQ on those long summer evenings.

The village of Lanner is within half a mile and offers everything you could want for a quiet stay in Cornwall; with a beach, the post office, the village shop and The Fox and Hound (a dog-friendly pub) on your doorstep. Under 4 miles away is the historic site of Carn Brae Castle, though its modern-day incarnation is a restaurant, the area offers a beautiful walk that allows you to literally step into Cornwall’s past as you visit the 14th Century castle, Neolithic wells, iron age huts and legends that predate them all.

Such a beautiful holiday cottage. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and so generous. Loved having the wood burner, which was all set up with logs ready to use plus we were given a generous amount of fuel to use for the wood burner. The cottage is in a great location and has lots of character. It is adequately equipped for 2 people. If you take a dog, the garden is not enclosed. The lounge is quite small and has a great log burner which is a great benefit as there is no heating downstairs and due to it being a typical Cornish property can get cold. We were provided with a plenRead moretiful supply of logs too. The upstairs is spacious, has central heating and is very comfortable. Hide

Peaceful location and lovely outlook of open countryside, which we found very restorative. We enjoyed the wood burning stove, which we needed every evening as it was a very cold week for early May. Good location for days out to North and South Cornwall.
