With its vaulted ceilings, timeless furnishings and natural materials, this cottage oozes understated elegance and country-chic. For example, artisan crafters’ centre, Hutton-le-Hole (3 miles), art and antique-hunters’ favourite, Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles) and foodies’ haven, Helmsley (8 miles). Further afield, Whitby and Scarborough (both within 32 miles) are popular seaside resorts steeped in history.
