Set in the Newlands Valley with great access to a selection of lakes and hikes, this stylish detached cottage is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and their dogs.

Strike out on exciting excursions along the shores of Derwentwater when you plan a group trip to this holiday home in which two dogs are also very welcome to stay. Also accommodating eight guests across three bedrooms, the two-storey cottage in Portinscale is set less than 1 mile from the picturesque lake. Head down to the marina to hire a boat on which your pups are also allowed to travel. Spend summer evenings back in the lawned garden, throwing a ball for your furry friends while supper sizzles on the BBQ.

Rub damp dogs down in the porch then head inside to take them through to the kitchen/diner. Pop the towels in the washer/dryer, feed your hungry hounds and pour yourself a glass of wine to drink by the French doors before you set to and make dinner. Find everything you need to prepare a hearty holiday meal with your own ingredients then dine inside at the table or out in the garden, with your furry friends close by. On chilly nights, light the wood burner in the lounge, find a film on TV and give furry ears a good stroke. Find you also have a shower room downstairs, while upstairs there are two king-size rooms, plus a bunk bedroom, with four full-size beds. Soak in the spa bath in the family bathroom before turning in for the night. Have breakfast in the garden, with your happy hounds enjoying the fresh air. Find parking for two cars at the cottage.

Suggest embarking upon the 10-mile walk around Derwentwater, safe in the knowledge that your canine companions will relish the experience. Hike 3.5 miles to Catbells, with its astounding views. Rest weary paws on a lake cruise back to Nichol End, strolling just 0.5 miles to get home.

Really lovely house sleeping a group of 8 comfortably, very well-equipped, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. Location is great with a lovely short walk into Keswick and ideally placed for exploring the Lakes. We had a wonderful stay.

Very comfy and spacious. Lovely village location, and just a short walk to the pub or cafe. Very convenient for walking from Keswick. Well equipped kitchen.

Fantastic area, lovely walk into Keswick which has great shops. Tons of walks on the doorstep and the chalet tearoom was great. Marina nearby for boat trips. Everywhere is so dog friendly. Cottage was lovely and cosy. Kitchen was well equipped. Only downside was that they didnt provide a cot for our baby.

Our second stay at this cottage and another great holiday. Ideally situated for days out, short walk to Keswick with shops. Chalet cafe serves great food, Farmers arms for a good pint & beer garden at Derwent Hotel great with access to the lake

Great Cottage in the Centre of Portinscale, It had everything that we needed for our weekend away. An enclosed back garden, is a real bonus , off road parking for two cars, and a charge point for an electric car. Manor Cottage is comfortable upstairs and down, it has a well equipped kitchen/ Dinner and lounge, We had good weather and there are plenRead morety of great walks straight from the doorstep, Keswick 25mins, Lingholm Kitchen 20mins, and many more. Brilliant cottage for those that want to be near a town location but not in the thick of it. Ideal for base for walking fells.

A fantastic location for walking Derwentwater, Catbells and into Keswick. Spacious cottage which is clean and well stocked. Log burner is cosy and a great touch as is speedy WiFi. Garden is 100% dog proof which is reassuring. Stone front entrance porch is great for dumping your stuff at the end of a long day without the worry of mucking up the accoRead moremmodation. A great cottage in a wonderful location. Plenty of space in the cottage and it's very comfortable. The garden is secure for dogs. There is a lovely tea shop just round the corner and Keswick is a only short drive away. You can walk to Derwentwater easily from the door. All in all a great cottage!

Lovely cottage however there was no loo paper or bin bags which was very poor. When we complained we were told to make our way to the office which we shouldn't have had to do.

Ideal location, clean and tidy. But Check in 5 oclock and checkout 10 oclock not ideal with a young family , felt like we wasted a day of our holiday.

This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage this year and once again, it didn't disappoint. It is immaculate, both inside and out, making for a relaxing stay. We love the fact that the parking for the property is off the street and right outside the front door - this isn't always the case in the Lake District. It is in a great location, Read moreand is only a short walk from Keswick, which we used most days. If you want a property which is dog friendly, which we did, this is ideal. Hide

A lovely cottage in Portinscale. The location is fantastic, walking distance to Derwent water and away from the crowds in Keswick. The cottage is cosy and well equipped with all mod cons.

A lovely cottage that accommodates for 8 people and a dog very comfortably. All the basics were there and really handy. Lovely to find a bookshelf with some books on the Lakes- we didn't prepare much so used the books extensively. Location of the cottage is a true gem- could not with for better, away from the street yet really central and easy walkRead moreing distance to Keswick. We would definitely want to return! Hide
