A unique, substantial holiday home, with picture windows capturing far-reaching vistas across the Lake District, and in a great location for immersing yourselves in nature.

Situated just 1 mile from Ennerdale Water, this marvellous property sleeps seven and is as inspiring as the region in which it sits thanks to its impressive architecture and eco-friendly features. Bask in the views of the Ennerdale Valley, treating your two stick-chases to a scamper in the countryside and a hearty pub lunch. Tour the Western lakes in all their glory, discovering Buttermere and Crummock Water and tackling imposing hill climbs all within 18.5 miles.

Underfloor heating will keep paws toasty whilst dining next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, and at night time, the crackling wood burner is the ultimate snoozing spot in the cosy lounge. Mealtimes are a breeze in the fabulous kitchen, whether you are preparing a light snack or a filling supper. There’s a farmhouse table for sociable breakfasts, no doubt enjoyed under the watchful eyes of Fido. In terms of entertainment, you’ll have SkyTV and a games console in the first-floor lounge, or why not spent time in the garden allowing the children and pups to enjoy letting off some steam on the grass. Weary from your day’s adventures, the four bedrooms await, two with en-suites and a handy bunk bedroom and single room both sharing a bathroom.

There’s plenty to discover from your doorstep including Ennerdale Water, a delightfully remote lake set against a stunning backdrop of mountains. Take in the sights of famous waterfalls such as Scale Force (13 miles) and Moss Force (15.5 miles), or channel your inner altitude-enthusiast and tackle High Stile or Pillar, both within 18.5 miles. Closer to home, the Blakeley Rise Stone Circle is well worth a sniff around, and the promise of a coast walk will thrill your sea dog. The St Bees Head Heritage Coast is 10 miles away and the sand and pebble shores of the beach are dog friendly all year round.

Expensive but on balance worth every penny.. whether a walker or just needing something for a special family get together this hits the spot. Eating in was easy with a superb kitchen, eating out was even easier with all the local facilities.

The property is in an amazing spot with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Being there over Christmas was extra special and decorated to a lovely standard. A superb and very comfortable home from which to explore the Western Lakes. Quiet location, yet accessible amenities not too far away. Would definitely recommend for families and dog owners.

Second visit to Lily Hall. Still did not disappoint. If you are looking for a very comfortable stay with loads of walks nearby, a pub 5 minute stroll away and no neighbours your dogs can annoy by barking then look no further.

Lily Hall is a beautiful cottage; not far from Ennerdale Lake on the Western side of the Lake District. It's a lot less touristy on this side of the Lakes, but with some lovely walks from right outside the door (using a newly laid footpath to reach the lake about mile away. The house has a secure garden for medium sized dogs (smaller dogs may findRead more a way out in one corner), and inside it has all the things you need for a lovely stay away (including games, decent internet, Sky TV). The property is just wonderful and in such a fantastic location. We had a really great time both exploring from, but also staying at Lily Hall. We could not get enough of the great views from the upstairs living area.

Fantastic property in a wonderful location which allowed walks to Ennerdale water. Dogs loved the large garden which is mostly enclosed (couple of gaps in the hedge that a dog could get out of if they really wanted!) We will definitely return.

WOW! I wish i could tell you we do not recommend this cottage to keep availability free for us - i cant possibly do that, instead we have already booked for next year. Its simply perfect.
