Set in the heart of the pretty coastal village of Blakeney, this charming cosy cottage makes a delightful holiday home for a romantic retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Sniff the sea air and throw down your anchor in beautiful Blakeney, an iconic seaside village on the stunning Norfolk coast. Beneath the cobbled-stone exterior, this traditional fisherman’s cottage boasts an array of home comforts including a roaring wood burner and a courtyard garden. Ideal for three humans and an accompanying sea dog, it’s a great spot for enjoying cliff-top trails, spotting resident wildlife and feasting on delicious picnics brimming with local delights.
Escape the blustering gale and hunker down by the wood burner on chilly evenings, letting sleeping dogs lie as you toast your toes and sip wine. The cosy living space is open-plan and features everything you need for your stay, including all the kitchen essentials for rustling up hearty suppers and rousing breakfasts. Perch at the table with your morning coffee, or head outside to the courtyard garden, sizzling up a special breakfast on the BBQ. A set of steep, winding cottage-style stairs leads upstairs to the bedroom, which has a gorgeous king-size bed and an adjoining single room perfect for children. There’s also an en-suite shower room for hosing down muddy paws, and ample on-street parking subject to availability.
Grab the lead and stroll through the nature reserve, looking out for the grey seal colony and nesting sea birds that inhabit the area. Take to the sea from Blakeney Point, or venture along the coast to Cley-next-the-Sea to visit the 18th-century windmill, 1 mile away. The Norfolk Coast Path is breathtaking to explore in either direction, but Wells-next-the-Sea is a wonderful destination, 8.5 miles away, for a well-deserved lunch of fish and chips, admiring the colourful beach huts and perhaps trying your hand at crabbing.
