This pretty two-bedroom hideaway with an enclosed courtyard is surrounded by leafy Devon countryside and is only a few miles from the coast as well as being within 10 miles of several dog-friendly beaches.
The arched gateway of this lovely holiday retreat is your entrance to a cosy property that makes up the spacious wing of an adjacent farmhouse. There’s a wood burner in the lounge with a TV where your canine companion can snooze at your feet after a day frolicking in the waves and outside you can cook up local specialities on the charcoal BBQ. The cottage style staircase leads upstairs where you’ll find views of the nearby 15th-century church and the surrounding Devon countryside. The main bedroom has a TV and outside is an enclosed courtyard where you can enjoy the evening sun - there’s also an adjoining field that your canine companions are welcome to use to stretch their legs. Regretfully infants are not permitted.
Your canine companion will go mutts for the lovely walks through Alwington towards Bideford along the River Yeo, and you’ll love the sleepy, picturesque Devon villages within a 3-mile radius. You can access the car-free Tarka Trail from the historic port town of Bideford just 3 miles away, and only slightly further afield at 6 miles away is Appledore: a village of winding cobbled streets lined with colourful cottages. Here you can join the South West Coast Path that takes you to the dog-friendly salt marshes and sand dunes of Northam Burrows only 1.5 miles on from Appledore along a walk that takes you past ancient battlegrounds and the remains of the region’s shipbuilding heritage. The pretty picturesque car-free village of Clovelly is just 8 miles away, and its pebble beach welcomes frolicking four-legged friends too. What a wag-tastic place to have a holiday!
