Pretty as a picture, this wonderfully characterful, 17th-century cottage sits in the beautiful Lake District countryside, offering an array of waggy-tailed walks straight from the door. Secluded and peaceful, the cottage was once owned by Beatrix Potter herself. Sleeping six guests with two four-legged family members also welcome, it is the perfect rural retreat for a family or group of friends.
With a handy hallway for cleaning up muddy paws and boots, this delightful cottage is immaculate yet full of charm. The invitingly cosy lounge, with its low ceiling and exposed beams, has a large, comfortable sofa and a wood burner where Fido can doze after a day in the fresh air. Enjoy a family meal at the dining table in the well-equipped kitchen, or a warming coffee after a chilly morning walk. Outside, the enclosed, gravelled patio has a table and chairs where you can sit and take in the breathtakingly beautiful views of Blelham Tarn while your four-pawed pal trots around in the sunshine.
Grab your lead and head straight out into the countryside with your furry friend. Beautiful Blelham Tarn is close by and Lake Windermere (1.5 miles) is also within easy reach. Take in the glorious views while your canine companion snuffles around next to you on a lakeside walk to the turreted Wray Castle, where you can enjoy a hot drink in the onsite cafe run by the National Trust. The lovely town of Ambleside (4.5 miles) has a large selection of dog-friendly shops, cafes and galleries, and there are dog-friendly boat trips out onto Lake Windermere which welcome well-behaved canine companions.
