Tucked away from the main area of the quay only a few paces from Back Beach, one of Polruan's hidden secrets. A romantic hideaway or a bolt hole to escape a busy life.

A coastal haven, this one-bedroom cottage in Polruan is an idyllic base for a loved-up getaway or luxurious solo break with your four-pawed pals at your side. Enjoying pared-back style decorated with jolly nautical themes, the cheery vibes, homely details and jaw-dropping views are a match made in heaven. Spend your days discovering the sights and scents of the country, watching boats pootle up and down the river and chatting with locals in the dog-friendly pub. A world away from the rush of everyday life, you and your dogs won’t ever want to leave.

Strip off boots and wipe off paws in the porch and come inside. Lovingly pieced together throughout, your first port of call will be the ground floor snug, home to a squidgy armchair and warmed by a wood burner, followed by the kitchen/diner. The playground of budding chefs and sous-pups, there is ample space and equipment for rustling up the most delicious meals throughout the day. Providing repose for weary feet and paws, the first-floor lounge is decked out with cosy seating (as well as a window seat with gorgeous views over the estuary), an original feature fireplace and a TV. Meanwhile on the second floor, sleeping beauties can look forward to bedtime in the comfortable double bedroom.

Step out the door of this private retreat and be immediately immersed in the goings on of this picturesque village. While the property does not have any parking itself, there are nearby car parks where weekly tickets can be purchased and plenty of places to visit on foot. Wander down to the quay with your dogs on their leads and watch the world go by. If you feel like it, you can also hop on the ferry over to Fowey or walk the coast path to dog-friendly Polridmouth Cove.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Comfortable and homely. Great decor. Very manageable kitchen. Top stairs a little steep. Fantastic view. Hearing the sea helped me sleep! Excellent food at the Luger Inn next door. Would recommend for a quiet break.

Well equipped small friendly cottage on the quayside at Polruan. The rooms were stylishly decorated with original Jo Downs hand crafted glassware. Forget the car - travel around by ferry to nearby Fowey or Mevagissey. Such beautiful countryside to explore, using the cottage as an excellent base.

Superb location. We have stayed in this property several times and we love staying there. You need to be aware that the stairs are quite steep.
