This charming barn conversion, in the heart of the Cotswolds, sleeps four guests and two dogs. The property boasts a peaceful location, with gorgeous views over open countryside. The dogs will love joining you for a morning stroll around the grounds and on day trips to the picturesque town of Lacock (3 miles) and the Roman city of Bath (13 miles).
The one-level property perfectly mixes modern design with the barn’s original features, and splashes of vibrant colour add warmth to each room. The accommodation embraces open-plan living, with a stylish kitchen area and cosy lounge. In the evening, sink into the comfy sofas with the waggy tailed ones curled at your feet, and enjoy a film on the TV. Outside, there’s a pretty shingle terrace where the dogs can relax in the sunshine and you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining. There’s also a pond with additional seating – a peaceful spot to devour a good book on a lazy afternoon. The hounds can join you for a walk around the 16 acres surrounding the property – just remember to pop them on a lead.
A trip to the unspoilt village on Lacock, 3 miles away, is a must. Much of the village is National Trust owned and you can step back in time and wander around the medieval streets with your canine companions. There’s also a dog-walking area in the National Trust car park. The grounds at Iford Manor (14 miles away) are also worth a visit. Dogs are welcome to join you in the stunning Italianate Grade I-listed gardens and can sit with you outside the tearoom. There are some great dog-friendly things to do in Bath, such as the National Trust’s Skyline walk with superb views across the city. You’ll also find plenty of dog-friendly eateries.
