A charming character cottage in a village location within walking distance of the beach. Explore the nearby New Forest National Park, harbour town of Lymington or simply light the fire and relax.
This bright and airy cottage in the New Forest, perfect for a family holiday with a dog in tow, gives you a characterful base from which to explore the walks and wilds of both the New Forest National Park and the maritime villages of the Solent.
The property is a traditional Victorian cottage in a terraced row. Enter through the garden gate straight into a spacious, enclosed garden, where dogs can roam freely while you sit at the sweet patio table. A sunroom begins the property itself, a sea-themed sitting area which looks onto the garden and captures the light. Then, your main living space is an open-plan sitting and dining room, complete with an open fire for cosy evenings. The kitchen mixes a country feel with modern conveniences and up the cottage-style stairs are a king-size and a double bedroom with comfortable beds and pretty, nautical details.
The cottage is located in the gorgeous cliff-top village of Barton on Sea. In under a mile you’ll reach the seaside, famous for its fossils. An 8-mile drive east brings you to the cobbled streets of Lymington, where pups and humans alike can enjoy marina views from one of the many dog-friendly pubs in town. A 6-mile seaside drive will take you to Keyhaven, an old fishing village with inspiring harbour views. From here, set off on the walking routes around the coast, visit Hurst Castle, an unusual curving fortress built on a shingle spit, or you and your furry pioneer could embark on the Solent Way, a 60-mile footpath following the beautiful coastline.
