Here, you’ll also find the start of the 109-mile Cleveland Way walking trail, which runs from Helmsley and the Rye Valley towards heather-clad moorland and hills until it reaches the spectacular cliffs of the east coastline, where the trails end in the Victorian resort of Filey. Your pup pal will beg to walk the entire route in a day! History buffs should visit Rievaulx Abbey ruins (3 miles), while young children may enjoy a trip to Flamingo Land (14 miles) which has theme-park fun, a conservation zoo, and seasonal events.
