A traditional stone-built cottage set in the picturesque village of Fritchley is perfect for couples or families looking to enjoy the outdoors and explore this beautiful countryside.
This charming cottage, in a quaint Derbyshire village just 10 miles from the fringe of the Peak District National Park, sleeps four guests and one four-legged friend. As well as numerous dog walks right from your front door, you’ll also have some fantastic woof-friendly attractions to explore nearby. The hilltop woodland estate at The Heights of Abraham (6.5 miles) is a real doggy haven, as are the majestic grounds at Chatsworth House (15 miles).
At the hub of the house is the cosy lounge, decorated in neutral tones to create a calming and relaxed ambience. Sink into one of the plump sofas to watch a film, whilst the pup warms their paws in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire. The cottage has not one but two enclosed gardens for the hounds to play in, one to the front of the property and one to the rear. There’s also a pretty summer house where they can chill out on a hot day or you can unwind with a good book. There’s also outdoor seating for al fresco dining and a BBQ.
If you and the hound have a head for heights, board the alpine-style cable car to the summit of The Heights of Abraham. There are numerous walks to explore within the 60-acre estate, as well as a lovely picnic area and outdoor seating at the cafe. Let Rover lead the way on a walk around the spectacular grounds of Chatsworth House, where you can admire the magnificent sculptures and waterworks. Doggy drink stations are dotted throughout the grounds and there’s also plenty of outdoor seating. Be transported back in time at Crich Tramway Village (2 miles). You and the pup can ride on a vintage tram, wander down the period street and follow the sculpture trail.
