A wonderful property located in Owslebury, a pretty little village in the South Downs National Park, just south of the vibrant city of Winchester. Many lovely walks and cycle routes can be enjoyed from the front door and their are local stables nearby if you enjoy horse riding.

This single-storey property, nestled in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, sleeps four guests plus one canine companion. Located within the beautiful South Downs National Park, where you’ll find more walking routes than in any other national park in the UK, you won’t be short of ideas when it comes to getting out and about on foot or paw. From gorgeous rolling hills, to picturesque villages and ancient woodland, there’s plenty to get tails wagging and keep the whole party entertained.

The purpose-built accommodation embraces open-plan living, creating ample space for everyone to spread out and relax. After a fun day of exploring, chill out in the cosy lounge area, where the woofer will love dozing in front of the roaring wood burner. The property has spectacular views out over the garden and surrounding countryside, and handy doors open from the lounge area so the dog can potter in and out. Outside, they’ll love sniffing around on the large lawned area and in the wildflower meadow whilst you sit back and enjoy a spot of wildlife watching.

For an exhilarating walk, head to St Catherine’s Hill (5 miles away). The climb through the nature reserve will get pulses racing, but it’s worth the effort for the spectacular views over Winchester. There are numerous routes you can pick up along the 100-mile South Downs Way. A lovely 6-mile route takes you from the vibrant city of Winchester (5 miles away) to Cheesefoot Head, following the River Itchen. For a fun family day out, visit Butser Ancient Farm (18 miles away). Dogs are welcome on leads and you can explore Stone Age houses and Saxon Hall, plus there are some great hands-on activities for children. In Owslebury itself you’ll find loads of walking trails and a charming dog-friendly pub just 0.5 miles away.
