  • Perfect location for the lovers of the great outdoors
  • Great walking and cycle tracks on your doorstep
Property code: AG692

Detached bungalow situated in a spectacular location at the top of Loch Sween offering 2 bedrooms, open fire and patio overlooking the Loch. The boats and yachts moored in the bay nearby make a picturesque sight.

Immerse yourself in the Lochside setting of this holiday home in Tayvallich, Argyll and Bute, where a small canine companion will also have the time of their life. Venture out on long walks with far-reaching views across Loch Sween, head through the nature reserve or embark on excursions into Knapdale Forest. Return home to your single-storey property, which sleeps up to four guests, to gaze out across the water.

Absorb the incredible views from inside this Scottish holiday home as soon as you climb the three steps to go inside. There is ample space for your party to spread out, or settle down with your best furry friend in the lounge where you can watch TV or a DVD. Wander through to the dining room, where Fido can play with his favourite toy while you have a cup of tea. Feed him in the kitchen where there is also a useful washing machine, then take him for one last walk before bed. All the bedrooms share the family bathroom. Bask in the sunshine or play with your happy hound in the enclosed garden (reached via a steep ramp) on warm days.

Take your pal down to the beach at the loch’s edge to leave paw prints on the sand but keep him on a lead due to all the wandering chickens. Stretch his legs further with a stroll beside the waters of Loch Sween and look out for deer, seals and otters along the way. Walk around 4 miles along the peninsula to Taynish and enjoy the glorious scenery of the nature reserve, which begins less than 1 mile from your base. Or make your way to Knapdale Forest, about 5 miles away, to explore the stunning woodland - your pup can accompany you on the Beaver Trail.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had the most wonderful week at Anchorage View. The accommodation was perfectly placed for watching the harbour. The surrounding scenery was breathtaking. Beautiful setting, amazing views. The cottage is lovely, it has spacious rooms. Nice and clean. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and crockery. Lots of walks to do near by, beach also only a mile away, great for kids to keep them occupied looking for sea shells!

This cottage is in a fantastic location being right on the seafront which provides lovely views across the bay. We had a very relaxing and quiet stay, however I am unable to give this property 5 stars due to its state of repair and comfort of the beds, which could be improved.

Fantastic location with stunning views. Having an excellent restaurant on your doorstep, combined with only a 2 minute walk to the village shop and the passenger ferry made this an ideal spot. Easy walk to the Carsaig for views over Jura, short drive to Crinan for coffee and the sea locks as well as walks along the canel. Lovely location. Cottage is spacious and tidy. Large driveway, so ideal for storing a boat, although driveway entrance is quite tight. We were able to keep our dinghy on the shore opposite the cottage, which was really convenient. The village slipway is only a 100 yds down the road. Lovely cottage in a stunning location with views over the loch and mountains, if you want peace and tranquility this is the place. Only one pub/restaurant in the village which is very good but you need to book days in advance for food in busy times. There is a small shop/cafe but the nearest bigger shop is in lochgilphead about 12 miles away.

Really nice location with great views across the bay and pub , store and coffee shop all walking distance away. Convenient to explore Argyll, Kintyre and various islands. Property had everything we needed for a family of 3 plus pet dog. Log fire was used even in late May! Some of the Decor very outdated and could do with a bit of a refresh.
