Stay in a charming cottage with a characterful wooden-beamed ceiling, mezzanine and sociable open-plan living space in the heart of Pembrokeshire. This property benefits from being amongst tranquil surroundings while still being close to the thriving country town of Haverfordwest. Spend your time exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park where you can take Fido for clifftop hikes, dips in the sea and visit picturesque seaside villages.

Inside is a spacious and bright open-plan living area with an endearing mix of old and new features. The kitchen is compact but beautifully finished with modern appliances and plenty of surface space for cooking special meals for your guests. Tuck in at the wooden dining table before putting your feet up on the ‘L’-shaped sofa in front of the TV. Also downstairs is a family bathroom, and two bedrooms – a double and a single. Climb the stairs to reach the mezzanine and two more single bedrooms. Outside is a private patio with furniture plus a lawn, BBQ area, play area and laundry room which are shared with neighbouring properties.

Wander into the centre of Haverfordwest (1 mile) and enjoy a meal out at one of the canine-welcoming restaurants. In the opposite direction is the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (4.5 miles) – the closest place to go for a dip is Broad Haven Beach (5.5 miles), and you can take Fido between October and April. If you’re visiting during the summer months, head to Little Haven (6 miles), a delightful seaside village with art galleries and independent eateries and the beach is restriction-free.

We were very impressed with Swallow Cottage in terms of facilities, cleanliness and comfort. Warm, welcoming and we were never without. It was perfect to come back to at the end of a long, tiring wet day! The host welcomed us with a generous hospitality tray with snacks as well as drinks. Hand soap, washing liquid and laundry liquid are all proRead morevided. The tumble dryer is communal and there's a little extra charge when used, but the communal washing line can be used on dry days. The carpark is along the drive as you come in, so it's a short walk to get to the cottages but a pull-alone wagon is available for you to pile your luggage into. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and knives that are actually sharp! There were even plastic bowls etc for the kids. The photos of the children's play area on this website don't do it justice - there's a wendy house, pirate ship, a selection of ride-on cars/tractors - all in an area safely gated away from the carpark. Probably suited up to age 5 or 6, but there's a larger climbing frame in the back garden for older ones. There's literally a shed full of toys/games for visitors to borrow, including beach toys and windbreakers. The owner lives onsite and was friendly and quickly available to help when we had questions. The location was ideal as it was only about 30mins drive to beaches and attractions either north or south Pembs, with a Tesco Extra only 5 mins drive away. We liked Tenby (larger choice of ice cream and fish/chip vendors!) And Heatherton world of activities was an excellent alternative to all the beaches. Haverfordwest itself has a castle and museum but currently closed. Hide

Thank you for providing such a wonderful holiday cottage. A total home from home, and lacked nothing! We absolutely love Pembrokeshire, but this has been the best location ever! So much to explore. We've been here two weeks and been somewhere different every day, and not let the dubious weather stop us. Every beach is magical. We will no doubt be bRead moreack. Ideally placed for trips to Northern and Southern Pembrokeshire. Lovely outdoor space with loads for toddlers and younger children to do and play with. Very quiet and serene. Hosts were very warm and welcoming.
