Located on the owner’s small, peaceful farm, which you will find hidden up a steep narrow hill, you’ll feel worlds away from everyday life at this unique barn conversion. Boasting incredible views, original features, and tranquillity in abundance, it’s a great spot for a family escape to the picturesque Lake District. Sleeping four across two cosy bedrooms, and with space for your canine companion too, you’ll feel instantly at home here.

Step into the handsome barn and into a hallway, off from which there are two flights of stairs--one going up to the first floor living area and the second down to the bedrooms. The comfortable open-plan lounge/kitchen offers a fantastic space to unwind after a busy day of exploring, perhaps with a film or two on the Smart TV in front of the log burner, with your four-legged friend curled up at your feet. A separate dining room is a great spot for long, leisurely breakfasts where you can plan the day’s activities or for family dinners when the action’s all over. On warmer evenings, why not dine alfresco at the small seating area and let Fido enjoy more of the fresh country air? Once you’re ready to retire for the night, the restful lower-ground floor bedrooms - one king-size and one double and single bed - are sure to provide a peaceful slumber.

The property’s incredible location sees you within touching distance of the area’s best-loved icons: Coniston Water and The Old Man of Coniston. Enjoy scenic walks, challenging hikes, and even a range of water sports. Spend a relaxing day on the water and hire a steam yacht gondola from the town jetty, get your adrenaline pumping with a day on the high ropes at Go Ape in Grizedale Forest (7.5 miles), or explore the dog-friendly grounds at Wray Castle (7 miles).

This is a very well-designed cottage for a Lakeland holiday: warm, comfy, excellent beds, and a great area for drying boots and coats. There are many fantastic walks you can do straight from the cottage too. We were very sad to leave.

We had a wonderful week. Easy access for walks from the door step. Access to Coniston for dining and shops - about a 10 minute walk. Parking available. Really warm, didnt need to light a fire. All equipment needed, tea towels included. Support was on hand by phone easily and really helpful.

Lovely peaceful accommodation overlooking lake Coniston. Lots of walking from accommodation. Lovely to see huge numbers of new broadleaved native trees planted on surrounding landowners fields.

We really enjoyed our stay here in a very comfortable well equipped house. Coniston village is easily walkable but a pretty steep incline on the way back. The owner is very obliging and helpful and views fantastic over the lake. Easy to get to the 'old man' and a great walk if the weather obliges. Pub at Torver did great lunchtime food and the CrowRead moren in the village good evening meals. Hide
