At a glance

  • Set in a tranquil, picture-perfect landscape, complete with a dedicated circular woodland trail for peaceful dog walks
  • 40 acre grounds showcasing natural beauty and with five fishing lakes fed by running water
  • Close to the South West Coast Path for cliff top walks with beautiful scenery
Property code: OC-00357

Situated in Clovelly, on the rugged North Devon Coast, this beautiful wooden lodge is perfect for the entire family and up to two four-legged friends. Sleeping four across a double and bunk room (made up of a single top bunk with double bottom) and set in a wildlife haven, excited eyes will spot rabbits and pheasants roaming freely. Watch kingfishers dip into the tranquil fishing lakes as you dine al fresco in the sunshine. It will be bucket and spades ahoy as you paw-foot it to the sandy beaches to enjoy the sun and a tasty ice cream.

Close to the water, this gorgeous property is accessed up three shallow steps or ramp to a private enclosed veranda; this safe space is ideal for pups to have fresh air without the worry of them taking a lakeside dip. Spacious and comfortable, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner creates a welcoming social space for all the family to gather over breakfast and plan the day’s activities. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to feed hungry mouths and an inviting corner sofa allows for lazy evenings watching a film while your happy hounds catch up on some snooze time.

Further afield, travel into Cornwall and visit the surfing beach of Bude (16 miles), there are plenty of surf hire shops so there is no excuse not to take a dip. Dogs are welcomed all year round on the town beach at Summerleaze, however during the summer season, some of the busier beaches require pups on leads during the lifeguard duty hours of 10-6pm. Visit the picturesque and historic fishing village of Clovelly (3 miles), the perfect place to sniff out and sample a freshly caught crab sandwich but steep cobbled streets mean you must remember sensible shoes and leads for pups.

We are repeat customers. We love Clovelly Lakes. The Lodges are clean, warm and well looked after, the grounds and lakes are also well looked after. The fishing lakes are well stocked and the fish are healthy and in superb condition. My husband caught 36 Carp and 212 large Bream and Roach over the 2 weeks. Lodges are close to Bude and Westward HoRead more! Highly recommend! Hide

Just returned from a five night stay in lodge 13. We found the lodge to be comfortable, very clean and in an excellent location for visiting the surrounding area. Great too, to be able to fish on the lake only a few feet away! Visiting The Red Lion in nearby quaint Clovelly is a must. We sat outside on the quay and had some very tasty fish and chipRead mores! We had a lovely walk along the beach at Instow. We went to the Boathouse...great food and service. A really lovely week! Highly recommend! Hide

A very well equipped, clean and comfortable lodge. We managed a few days fishing in the well stocked adjacent lake despite the rainy days. Will definitely visit again.

Had a great time in a great lodge (plover lodge). The fish were in great condition and caught loads, a pleasant change from france but will be back in france next year due to size of carp and lake exclusive but definitely recommend clovelly lakes.

The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was very peaceful and the owners were there if needed but left you alone to get on with your break. The fishing was also very good. We would recommend the Bell Inn at Parkham, the food was very good.
