Dogs are as welcome as humans at this cheerful holiday home in Heacham, where you’ll be 300 metres from the local beach. It sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, making it a great choice if you’re a family or group of friends looking to enjoy the Norfolk coast along with your four-legged companion. While you’re here, be sure to make time for a visit to Norfolk Lavender Farm (1.5 miles), where you can wander through fragrant gardens with your pet.

Inside, the house has a stylish open-plan lounge/diner decorated in a breezy coastal style. The light-filled dining space opens onto the patio through French doors, so your dog can trot in and out. The lounge area is perfect for curling up in front of the TV, while the kitchen has everything you need for easy holiday meals. There’s also a handy ground-floor shower room with WC. Head upstairs to find three beautifully presented bedrooms: a king-size with Velux windows and sea views, a cosy double and a bunk bedroom which would suit children. A family bathroom with a bath and shower attachment completes the first floor. Outside, you can tuck into al fresco meals on the enclosed patio while your pup lounges nearby. There’s plenty nearby to keep tails wagging – head to the mostly dog-friendly Brancaster Beach (8 miles) for long walks across wide stretches of sand, where you might spot seals lounging along the shoreline or the famous shipwreck revealed at low tide. For a slower-paced afternoon, Burnham Market (12 miles) is packed with independent boutiques, galleries and dog-friendly places to stop for a well-deserved coffee or lunch.
