In amongst the luscious rolling green hills of Britain’s highest village is this quirky and characterful rural cottage in the Peak District. Sleeping two guests and up to three dogs, you and your four-pawed pal will discover lots of fantastic walks and hikes across the Peak District National Park and Tittesworth Reservoir.

Fall in love with this charming cottage that offers breathtaking countryside views of the surrounding valleys from every window. Step into the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and let your pup put their paws up next to the gorgeous wood burner. Prepare a comforting dinner in the well-equipped kitchen and settle down for the evening in the lounge with your favourite movie on the TV/DVD as your waggy-tailed friend snores the night away by your feet. Completing the ground floor is a stylish shower room with shower and WC. When you’re ready for bed, you’ll make your way up the stunning spiral staircase to a mezzanine-style double bedroom. On-site, the owners keep a small holding of sheep, pigs, emus, ducks, chickens and other animals, all of which add to the countryside feel of the accommodation. You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating dotted around the farm as well as a charcoal BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining during the summer months. Better yet, you won’t need to worry about your pup getting lost on the land as there is a secure dog walking field moments from your doorstep.

Outdoor enthusiasts can have a ball running wild across the Peak District National Park just 17 miles away. Tittesworth Reservoir is also only 8 miles away and offers stunning views of The Roaches; your furry friend will need to stay on their lead while here. You’ll also find a low-key dog-friendly pub less than 1 mile from your front door.

We have never known a welcome like it for dogs and their owners - everything was set up so that the dogs could enjoy their holiday as much as the rest of the family could, with amazing access for exercise and the freedom they needed to enjoy the open space surrounding the cottage.

Wonderful host, beautiful location and we loved the fact that our pooch could run around outside in complete safety. The cottage was very well equipped, plenty of logs for the burner and the interior has such character. Very easy to park, right in the middle of the National Park and close to so many nice towns and villages. Cannot fault the place. Read moreWe will return as it was that relaxing and stress free.
