Escape to the country and relax in this wonderful dog-friendly converted farm building that shows rural England at its finest. The perfect mix of traditional charm and modern convenience combine to give visitors just the trip they need to unwind.

Located on a working farm in Taddington and with Buxton just 4 miles away, guests can enjoy the beauty and nearby attractions in abundance. Inside this striking country cottage, you will find a unique upside-down layout that enables you to benefit from some remarkable views via the reception rooms. Back to the ground floor and two bedrooms, both oozing comfort and indulgence await. The rustic charm, the wooden floorboards, exposed beams and traditional windows really make this a must-stay. Upstairs, you’re greeted by the spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting area. Your dog is going to love this comfortable space just as much as you. The wooden floorboards, exposed beams, ceiling trusses and brickwork features make this all the more enjoyable. Fancy staying close to home? You can enjoy sitting outside on the patio in true countryside fashion, where a traditional drystone wall borders the property.

Just 1.5 miles away is a dog-friendly, family-run pub that’s the perfect place to pitch up for a mid-afternoon glass of wine or an evening meal. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident cockatoo! The allure for dog walkers here is that the routes on offer are simply breathtaking. Situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park, the list is endless; we recommend a circular walk from Taddington which visits the hamlet of Brushfield before following the Wye Valley back to where the walk began. The route passes infamous Litton Mill, Cressbrook and Monsal Head.

Great cottage in a great location. Loads of fabulous walks nearby. We stayed over Christmas so that we could meet up with family and it worked really well for us. The open plan layout upstairs was great and it was lovely and warm. Very dog friendly, especially being able to walk them in the field across the courtyard that was livestock free. The cottage was very spacious upstairs and had very good facilities and parking immediately outside. Helpful for dog owners that we were allowed to let dogs off the lead in 2 fields with no livestock present. Excellent position between Buxton and Bakewell. Also the Church Inn just 10 minutes drive. Great food.

Overall well positioned. The road signage should be bigger if allowed, almost impossible to see at night. Sat navnot accurate not the owners fault but my Google maps directed one to a farm round the corner.

lovely cottage in quiet location. Milk in fridge and biscuits for your arrival. Great views from windows. Good Smart TV on unit. I hate it when TVs are above mantelpiece or higher up on walls. infact position of TV at sofa level is an absolute must. It is amazing how man are not. So definitely would have no hesitation in returning.

The TV offered more than basic channels which was nice. The owners and other guests were very pleasant. The cottage is very secluded so we heard no traffic noise. A lovely cottage with the most beautiful views in all directions. We had lovely walks along the range of footpaths from the farm and easy access to the Monsal Trail. We ate at one of the recommended pubs (which was a 30min walk to) and the cottage was very cosy and warm (I didn't need my warm hoody I had packed in case it was chilly).
