Take a break away with the family at this first-floor barn conversion with a splash of luxury from the shared pool and hot tub, and homely touches throughout. Get out and explore the beauty of the North York Moors on a challenging hike with your four-pawed pal or wander through the neighbouring market towns for a slower-paced day; there’s plenty to see and do from the village of Newton-on-Rawcliffe.

Welcoming you into the property is a gorgeous open-plan, triple aspect living/dining/kitchen space where the whole family can get together and socialise, lounging on the curved sofa with a good book or for movie night. The dining table has seating for four, next to one of the large windows which allow light to pour in, offering views stretching for miles across the countryside. Though compact, the kitchen area has all that could be needed for cooking up meals on a week away. Bedroom number one is a double with a minimalistic, homely feel whilst the second room is a modern twin featuring a charming dark wood beam. To unwind at the end of the day, the spacious bathroom has a luxurious corner bath with shower over. Outside, you have your own enclosed garden but the shared gardens are also a lovely place to enjoy the sunshine, with a variety of seating throughout the well-managed space. In addition, there is a shared pool house with a 6m pool, sauna and hot tub complete with changing facilities and showers.

Located in Newton-on-Farcliffe, there is plenty to explore within easy reach of the village, especially with the North York Moors National Park right on your doorstep for adventures with your canine companion across varied terrains. 5 miles away, the market town of Pickering is a friendly place to visit and has a selection of dog-friendly shops and eateries to indulge at as well as a historic castle to explore.

  • Pub is a short walk away (check for opening times and if serving food) and shop 5 miles
  • Please note, this property is not suitable for parties due to being in a residential area and the owners kindly request that you consider the neighbours by keeping the noise down outside after 10pm.
  • Property is accessed by quite steep stone steps
  • Please note, there are head-level beams in the twin bedroom
  • Infants are included within the maximum occupancy for this property. For safety and insurance reasons, the total number of guest (including infants) must not exceed the advertised sleep capacity.
  • Only guests name on the booking are permitted to stay at the property and use the on-leisure suite as capacity is limited due to shared facilities

Lovely spot and cosy cottage. Nice to have the pool facilities and the owners were very helpful when needed. A great base to explore the area for our young family.

Really nice cottage. Lovely views from Granary. Water garden very pleasant for a stroll around. Liked the village and the drive to Goathland over the moors. Would recommend the cottages.

Amazing location in a pretty village, this small cottage has great views. Good facilities for kids with swimming pool, table tennis, pool table, small garden, plus local childrens playground just a 5 minute stroll down the road. There is a pub next door but they dont serve food which was a shame. We had a couple of gripes about hot water and a creaRead moreky bed but it was generally a nice place to stay and a good base to explore the area. Hide

Really lovely place to stay facilities fantastic. Lovely friendly people in the pub. Few cobwebs otherwise would have given 5 stars on cleaning however your staying in an old cottage so to expected .was not an issue. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back. Thankyou

We had a fantastic stay in The Granary at Mels cottages, central to lots of places of interest. A welcome hamper gave that perfect personal touch and really made you feel appreciated. Lovely accommodation set in a peaceful area which resulted in a relaxing break. Great swimming facilities and hot tub. Outdoor area for pool and table tennis was a great for entertaining the kids. A good base for exploring North Yorkshire. Would recommend to family friends.
