The perfect rural retreat for friends, family and their furry companions.

Outside, there's access to a shared courtyard and garden with plenty of private corners to sit and relax with your favourite book. Alternatively, try out the fabulous pool house where you can take a dip in the 6-metre exercise pool and finish off with a steam in the sauna and a soak in the hot tub.

Just 3 miles north of the village, leave no stick unfetched in the beautiful Cropton Forest or head deep into the national park where faithful friends can join their owners along the many footpaths that crisscross this stunning landscape. We had a lovely bank holiday weekend in Swift cottage. It was a brilliant size for 7 people and a dog. The cottage was great for our needs. Two guests were slightly older and have mobility issues but swift cottage was perfect for them. The addition of the leisure suite was brilliant for something to do in the afternoons after a day out. Really enjoyed our stay, making good use of the pool and hot tub. Cottage was well equipped, warm and comfortable. Popped next door to the pub for quiz night and had a really fun evening.

Had such a lovely relaxing break with friends. The cottage itself if so homely and such peaceful surrounds. Dogs loved having freedom in their walks. Nice villages and towns close by to visit. Added bonus having the spa facilities. Kids loved having a splash in the pool.

The cottage was lovely, in a quiet village, central to North Yorkshire. Can take a while on the windy roads to get to the coastal towns though! The place was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. The swimming pool was a nice extra. The house on the corner has a pack of small dogs, which act as an early warning system for passers by! Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at Swift Cottage by Mel's Cottages. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub access was a huge bonus and we used it everyday. Our break at Mels cottages was one of the most enjoyable and stress free holidays we've had and I wish we had booked for longer. Thank you.
