Gather your friends, family and four-legged friends together for a great escape just outside the North Yorkshire Moors in this beautiful and unique lodge which is full of character. Challenge yourself with a ramble to the summit of Roseberry Topping and you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views over the countryside which are sure to get tails wagging.

Stepping into the hall, you’ll feel immediately at home, surrounded by warm natural wood and thoughtful furnishings to help you to relax. The living room/diner is a fantastic social space, with a pillowy corner sofa positioned around a wood burner and a large Smart TV for entertainment. Exposed brick walls break up the wood-clad walls and are a charming addition to the space. Behind the sofa is a contemporary table for six with pretty views out of the windows creating a wonderful ambience for mealtimes. Next up is the well-appointed kitchen with an island at its centre, complete with three chairs for use as a breakfast bar where you can sit and chat whilst the chef of the group fixes up a feast. There is also a handy utility/boot room on the ground floor, as well as a downstairs bathroom. Up on the first floor is a family-style bedroom with a fabulous arched ceiling featuring a king-size bed and two velvet chairs which can be used as single beds if needed. In addition, the room enjoys the use of the private balcony where you can sit and sip a morning coffee with your Fido at your feet. Completing the sleeping arrangements are a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both thoughtfully furnished with their own individual style, alongside a spacious and elegant shower room. Make the most of the outside space with the decked area, hot tub and ‘doghouse’ where your dog can find a space of their own.

Perfectly situated to ensure you can make the most of both the coast and countryside, Great Ayton is a great base from which to explore, with walks starting right on your doorstep. Spend a day by the seaside on the dog-friendly sands of Saltburn Beach (10 miles) or head deep into the North York Moors (16 miles) to explore the deep valleys and mighty peaks of the national park to get to know the local area. Or, for a slower-paced day, search out fine eateries and tearooms in the village of Stokesley for a little treat for you and your pup.

Fantastic stay in Embla Lodge. Very spacious, excellent equipped kitchen. Lovely dining area for family meals. The Bistro on site was great. Dogs loved the field and didn't want to come home. Roseberry topping and Guisborough Forrest close by are excellent for dog walking. We loved it so much we have already booked again for next year.

Beautiful and comfortable in a great location. We had to ask to get a couple of small issues fixed and these were fixed within minutes. Great, friendly service. The on- site bistro is fantastic and many thanks to the friendly staff there.
