Property code: OC-82843

Enjoy everything the local coast and countryside have to offer and escape for a romantic retreat with your tufty-eared companion. The town of Kirkbymoorside sits in a fantastic location and has lots to offer in the way of shops, eateries and exciting spots for your pup’s walkies. Spend time serving up al fresco treats, serving aces on the tennis courts or serving up the competition in the billiards room.

Arrive to a thoughtful welcome pack for both you and your pup to get your holiday off to a brilliant start. Tuck into treats at the table which takes centre stage in the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. Though this is a snug space, the light decor, exposed beam and natural light create an airy feel where you can easily unwind in front of the TV with your dog sprawled out beneath you. It’s not far to reach the treat jar which can be stored in a kitchen cupboard above the pair of microwaves and out of your pup’s reach. Burn off any unspent energy on the shared tennis courts, in the shared billiards room or playing fetch next to the vegetable garden before drifting off to sleep in the inviting king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is off-road parking for one car.

Embark on a trip to the coast and board the dog-friendly North Yorkshire Steam Railway to Whitby (29.5 miles) for a day by the sea. Whitby West Cliff Beach welcomes those with sandy paws all year round in certain areas so you can fill your day with ball chasing, sea swimming and sandcastle building before heading home. Treat yourself to a night away from the kitchen and visit one of Kirkbymoorside’s eateries from which you can walk home. Sitting on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park, explore close to home or make the 8-mile journey to the Howardian Hills AONB.

Lovely location, very peaceful. Accommodation very good for one or a couple. No oven, but 2 microwaves and the induction hob made cooking easy. Everything I needed for my stay.

Great little property, very compact but has good size bathroom and adequate bedroom space as long as you don't unpack too much. Although kitchen is equipped for microwave/hob cooking the lack of space to store any food gave the impression that a lot of cooking wasn't expected. Lovely cottage and welcome pack. The designated dog walking area wasn't cut so didn't use it. Went to Thornton le dale to see bangers and cash museum. Hutton le hole is a lovely village worth a visit. Went to pickering castle and if you walk around the outside of the castle walls you come across a woods nice walk around with the dog. Also we visiteRead mored Dalby forest which had different levels of walks and cafs. All was easy to get to by car. Not far to the moors for plenty of walks. Hide
