Surrounded by open farmland with plenty of scenic walks from your doorstep, escape to this lovingly furnished retreat to find plenty of stick-throwing opportunities along the West Cornwall countryside and coastline. This is the perfect spot for families to enjoy an unforgettable getaway with their four-pawed pal.

After a day on the trails, there’s no better welcome than the soothing neutral colour palette and homely ambience of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Tired pups can curl up at your feet as you hunker down on the plush sofa in front of the Smart TV. Get creative in the chic kitchen before enjoying your tasty treats with a glass of something chilled around the dining table. When it’s time for bed, you have one double and one twin bedroom (which can be made into a king bed on request) to retire to for a well-deserved rest before tomorrow’s walkies. Being completely enclosed, playful pups can roam to their heart's content outside on the lawn as you soak up your stunning farmland scenery from the comfort of the picnic bench.

Those with a nose for nature will be spoilt for choice with the gloriously golden sands and dune landscape of Hayle Towans, the iconic lighthouse and seal colonies of Godrevy and the surfing tide of Portreath Beach, all reached within 7.5 miles (seasonal restrictions apply). If your four-pawed pal can keep up, hop on two wheels to ride along the rugged north coast to Devoran (14.5 miles) or the south coast across some unique cycle paths occupying the old tram roads. Take the lead to the fishing village of Porthleven (10 miles) to sniff out some local treats from its plethora of independent shops and cafes.

We stayed for a week at Oak Barn and found it very comfortable. The garden was fully enclosed and extremely dog friendly. My Cockerpoo enjoyed seeing the horses, donkeys and especially the goats every day. The Barn was very central to places we wanted to visit like Newquay, St Ives, Porthleven and Perranporth. There were walks close to the propertyRead more which we went on after speaking to Lisa, the owner, who was around and available for advice on local attractions. Hide

Great place to stay not far from the town if you need anything but far enough that it isn't affecting you. The accommodation is great and if you have a dog the fenced off garden area is great to let them out. Smaller dogs may get through the fence, ours is a beagle and was fine. A little welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch.

Had a week stay at Oak Barn. Was surprised to see such a well stocked welcome pack on arrival with drinks and snacks and importantly cream tea scones. It was very appreciated after a long drive down. Several nice walks not far from the barn and a great pub 3 minutes away (the Shire Inn) which do a nice carvery. Hide
