Property code: OC-82635

The cottage benefits from an idyllic setting, surrounded by open countryside and farmland. The property sleeps four guests and one hairy hound, making it perfect for a small family getaway or couples’ retreat. You’ll be just 14 miles from the picturesque Cornish town of St Ives, known for its vibrant art scene, fantastic restaurants and spectacular beaches (many of which welcome four-legged visitors). There are also incredible clifftop walks to explore along this stretch of coastline.

The stylish property is decorated in a contemporary style and has an open-plan layout, making it easy to socialise during your holiday. Gather around the chic breakfast bar to plan the day’s itinerary or sink into the plump sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite film on the Smart TV. Hard floors run throughout the living area, making it easy to deal with the odd muddy pawprint. Outside, there’s an enclosed garden with a lawn that your four-pawed pal can play on, as well as a picnic bench and BBQ for outdoor dining on balmy summer’s evenings.

Wander around the cobbled streets of St Ives, peering into the windows of all the fabulous galleries, before grabbing a bite to eat in one of the many woof-friendly pubs. Bamaluz Beach – a small sandy cove in the old fishing quarter - is the perfect place for the hound to stretch their legs, as it’s dog friendly all year. Alternatively, follow the coastal path for two miles out of town to the vast expanse of sand at Porthkidney, where they can run and run to their heart’s content. Another lovely place for a walk is Tehidy Country Park (4.5 miles), where you’ll find over 9 miles of woodland trails to sniff and investigate. There are also some beautiful picnic spots next to the lake.

Very comfortable accommodation, cosy and well equipped. Particularly comfy bed! Quiet country setting but easily walkable into town. Hosts very kindly supplied afternoon tea, Prosecco, Cornish apple juice, milk and coffee sachets.

We have stayed at Sycamore Barn on several occasions and have always found it perfect for us and our dog. If there is anything we need Lisa and her family are always on hand to help. The barn is situated up a quiet but easily accessible lane which is to be expected in Cornwall but weve never experienced any problems getting to the barn. All in all Read morea gem of a find. Upon booking the location was listed as Sycamore Barn, Gwithian, which was incorrect it's in Killivose. We kept the booking despite this due to the possibility of dog sitting but upon enquiry were told the dogs are mostly left in the barn and checked upon, and were never told availability. The smell from the septic tank was very unpleasant every evRead moreening, the frying pan was not fully clean from the last users, the batteries in the TV remote were going flat and the WiFi was intermittent at best. Holidaycottages.co.uk response; Thank you for your review. To clarify, the location of this property is shown on the map at the bottom of the website page. We previously described it as 4.5 miles East of Gwithian, which Killivose is. The owner confirmed that none of the issues you have mentioned were brought up with her during your stay, so she was unable to address them for you, unfortunately. The owner did respond to your enquiry about dog sitting, but heard nothing more from you as to whether you wanted to go ahead with this. Hide

We had a fantastic week on Sycamore Farm. A nice quiet, clean place not too far from the town and the seaside. My daughter couldn't stop playing with the donkeys, the ponies and the horse. Lisa and her family were very kind and helpful. We recommend this place to everyone who would like to spend a quiet, peaceful holiday in Cornwall.

It's lovely property, quiet and peaceful. The owner is lovely. There are horses/donkeys/goats. Few places to walk dogs, all fields had locked gates and/or horses in. Sycamore Barn was well equipped and very comfortable. We had our dog with us and it was good having an enclosed space so we knew he was safe. It was easy to contact the owners with any questions and they were very helpful. It was a very good location and central to explore the area. Camborne station was a walk away, although it took us a bit longerRead more than anticipated as were not very fast walkers, we caught the train to Penzance. Lovely lodge In a lovely location. Tucked away but close to local amenities. Gorgeous pub down the road called The Shire. We had a wonderful Carvery. Kitchen well equipped with everything we needed. Lounge was comfortable and relaxing. The kingsize bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A quiet location off a very narrow lane just outside Camborne it's convenient to the coast on both sides of the peninsula. There are three 'barns' (modern lodges) backing on to one another. This one is closest to the lane (well set back from it) and thus has a wider view of the trees and countryside than the others, and doesn't overlook the others.Read more Very nice. Hide
