Stick chasers, rabbit sniffers and tufty-pawed scramblers will fall in love with the Borrowdale Valley in all its splendour, and where better to lay down a base than charming Rosthwaite. Situated just 6.5 miles from Keswick, this peaceful hamlet is home to a pub, tearooms and a shop that can be easily reached from your cosy apartment. Suitable for couples along with two pups, your accommodation is one of five apartments in a Victorian house.

Enter via the shared entrance and discover your cosy apartment on the ground floor. Fido will waste no time getting comfortable in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, and you’ll have everything you need to prepare tasty treats in the kitchen. Relax in front of the TV or play card games at the table, slipping outside with your last cup of tea of the day to watch your hound play in the shared garden. At bedtime, there is a pretty double bedroom, and completing the property is a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The surrounding fells provide ample walking opportunities straight from your doorstep, and just a short 4-mile drive will bring you to Derwentwater for lakeside strolls and water sports. Ideal for adventurous guests, the lake is a great location for paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing. Keswick (6.5 miles) is a treasure trove of friendly eateries, interesting shops and attractions such as a museum and the theatre by the lake. Further afield, Buttermere has some of the most famous views of the Lake District, inviting you to scamper along the footpaths and enjoy the scenery.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The location is ideal with plenty of walks straight from the door.

Really nice accommodation for 2 people and a dog set in a beautiful part of the lake district. Good quality kitchen for self catering and a comfortable leather sofa and armchair in the lounge area.

Great recently refurbished apartment in the most wonderful location. So much nice walking from the door and great to have a tea room on the doorstep.

The property is well located in the Borrowdale Valley, with lovely walks along the Coast to Coast route right on the doorstep, and around 20 minutes from Keswick. It is basic but functional accommodation and suitable for a lower-budget holiday. The separate sitting room and living area were useful, and the property had the essentials needed for a sRead morehort stay. However, it is definitely more of a no-frills property and could be made more comfortable. Some additional basic supplies and a few improvements to comfort, such as providing extra towels and simple kitchen essentials like salt and pepper, would make a big difference to the overall experience. The apartment was in a brilliant location, stunning views and close to the brilliant bus network so no need to use the car . The apartment itself was beautifully furnished and decorated and we made use of the lovely garden. We visited Kiln How 40 years ago for our honeymoon and decided to return for our Ruby wedding celebration.

A lovely quiet place to stay in a wonderful location - close to public transport with great walks from the property. The property was clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed for a week in the Lake District.

We enjoyed our stay in the apartment , the accommodation was spotless, the lounge & kitchen were lovely & modern, but would benefit from a couple more bits of cutlery & crockery.
