This small-but-perfectly-formed couple’s retreat is a wonderfully romantic spot for a relaxing break with your loved one and pet. Spend satisfying days exploring the valleys and ancient woodlands of the South Downs National Park with your four-legged pal, followed by evenings enjoying the outside overhead rain shower at your dinky accommodation. The hand-built shepherd’s hut has room for two lovers and their beloved canine companion seeking a restorative stay in the scenic Sussex countryside.

Enter the stable door to the gloriously quaint interior, which has lovely wooden units, quirky vintage furniture and sweet mullioned windows. A complimentary breakfast hamper filled to the brim with local produce awaits, with other goodies are available in the farm shop 150m away. A pizza oven, fire pit BBQ are on hand for prepping culinary feasts to enjoy while your pet lets off steam in the enclosed lawned garden. After dinner, fire up the wood burner to create a snooze spot for your pet while you snuggle down with a film or a book.

You’ll be in a gloriously remote spot 1.5 miles from a doggie-welcoming gastropub where you can look forward to a drink or a meal with your pet in tow. Wonderful walkies start right from your front door. Brilliant holiday so peaceful and relaxing just what we needed, fantastic location and as soon as we both saw the little chapel we smiled, can't think of any holiday accommodation that's done that

We really enjoyed our stay at the little Chapel. Very friendly staff are really helpful and supported us and communicated any unexpected potential activities. Location combines peace and a view of the fields and hills in the background. Sufficient nature to be kept calm and rest. The shop at the Garden Centre has all that is needed to feed yourselfRead more and a cafe for those less doo-it-yourself. Bus stop for the door brings you to Brighton (30 mins), but there is no footpath to the local hostelries - road transport is required even for the 1-2 km. It is a shepherds hut, so insulation is not great. In winter there is a woodturner, but when we were there it was quite warm - even at night, and there are mosquitoes around. The extra outside shower was really nice in the warm evenings (you can also shower inside). We really enjoyed our stay. Hide

Genuinely such a nice place to stay, so cozy with great facilities. Having the farm shop near by was great and nothing was more than a couple minutes drive away. Beautiful countryside walks and plenty of places to explore along with a really informative welcome pack if you've never stayed in the area (barely had to use Google)

We stayed in the Little Chapel during a decent week of weather in August. It's set in a lovely space -a marshy field with a view of the closest hill, fairly close to the Rushfields plant centre and farm shop (great produce) but enough distance that you can't hear the cars come and go at all. We met the owner when we asked for wood for the burner buRead moret we didn't need it as the place is very well insulated and the nights were warm. The area is very beautiful. Wildflowers galore! The hut is in a terrific location - despite being 'round the back' of the garden centre you're not really aware of that. It is lovely and quiet (some road noise but not enough to disturb) and well fitted out: kingsize bed, smart TV, great shower, and useable kitchen/diner with all the kit you need. Wifi was fine, local maps/guide books a nice touchRead more. The hut itself is really quaint and appealing - overall a great spot for a relaxing break. Lovely to wake up to rabbits and a woodpecker outside! Hide

The Little Chapel was tastefully furnished and well equipped. I really appreciated the outdoor bath and the sun loungers in the hot weather.
