Indulge yourself and treat your canine companion too when you stay in this lavish apartment by the sea. Positioned in an idyllic location just 2 miles from the dog-friendly shores of Ogmore-by-Sea, the former farmhouse sleeps six humans and one hound. Discover the Glamorgan Heritage Coast by day and relax by night, curling up on the sofas whilst Fido enjoys a snooze by your feet.

Stylish and extremely impressive, your accommodation is set in a raised position with marvellous views. Inside, the open-plan living space is the essence of chic with a gentle seaside vibe, vaulted ceilings and subtle colours. Fido will adore sniffing the salty air whilst you unwind on the sofas, but he’ll soon take up a prime spot by the table when you are ready to dine. Cook up a storm in the kitchen or don something comfortable ready to dine at the on-site restaurant next door. There are three bedrooms to choose from including a cosy bunk bedroom perfect for children, and two spacious rooms with a bonus en-suite shower room apiece. Although there isn’t a dedicated outside space, you’ll be very close to the coast path for walks.

The beach at Ogmore-by-Sea is a favourite amongst families with fossils to find and rock pools to sniff out. From here, the walks along the River Ogmore are a delight, and you’ll also discover the ruins of the castle on your way. In the opposite direction, Dunraven Bay (1 mile) is a wonderful place to marvel at the views towards the Bristol Channel and spot the varied wildlife. There’s an Iron Age hill fort to admire too.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 double, 1 bunk snug (although full sized beds, space is limited as located directly off the landing with no privacy) suitable for small children only as sharing a bathroom with adjacent bedroom
  • 2 en-suite shower rooms with WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher
  • Welcome pack provided on arrival
  • Travel cots and highchairs available on request
  • Smart TV in lounge and bedrooms

Location and cleanliness were great but the overall standard fell well below what we expected for a property marketed and priced as luxury accommodation. Despite raising several issues during our stay, none were rectified, which was particularly disappointing given the cost. The third bedroom is just a cupboard with bunk beds in (with no safety rRead moreail, no door and nowhere to store clothes). On arrive there was only one coffee pod and no tea bags and no more were provided when requested. The kitchen is very small and not appropriately equipped - only 5 mugs for a 6person property, not enough dishwasher tablets, no cupboard space to store food and a broken fridge shelf in an already small fridge with tiny iced up freezer compartment. There were multiple maintenance faults broken bathroom sink plug, faulty skylight blind, broken fan cover (potentially unsafe), broken window catch, and a broken bedroom door latch. There was 1 game (which had a dice missing) and 1 jigsaw (which came with a note saying around 30 pieces were missing). Individually these might be minor, but together they created a sense of a property that isnt being properly maintained or checked between guests and even when these issues were raised, both during our stay and afterwards via email, there was no attempt to resolve them. For the premium price point, this was simply not acceptable. With better upkeep and attention to detail, Tusker could be excellent but based on our experience, it did not meet the standard advertised. An amazing location overlooking the sea and the coastal path. There is a cafe underneath the apartment but this did not bother us and it did not stay open past about 5 at the latest - also very useful for breakfast! Would recommend the apartment but would note that the 'bunkroom' is bunk beds built into the wall on the landing and if you are not aRead more family, it's a bit awkward going into the other bedrooms to the bathroom as they are both ensuite. Couldn't fault the location which allowed us to witness stunning sunsets and meant easy access to the walks along the coastline. Flat felt very homely and allowed us to relax and feel refreshed. Coffee shop underneath didnt impact on our stay despite being busy when open. Would definitely recommend for those wanting to unwind

We had a fabulous stay, we had everything we needed for 3 nights, the cafe downstairs was very handy. The walk to the castle ruins and beach was fabulous. I hope to return soon!

The apartment is directly above the cafe and the entrance to the apartment is along the rear cafe corridor where customer toilets and office are located. The apartment is very good and a great location for The Glamorgan Heritage Trail for walking.

Tusker is a lovely rustic yet contemporary flat that was perfect for our little family celebration. Stunning location on the cliff and easy to find. Beds and accommodation really comfortable. Very secure entry system and felt totally at ease.

Superb location on the Wales Coast path and convenient to have the cafe / restaurant located under the apartment. Really lovely interiors and well equipped for everything you need. Our host was super helpful and explained everything well for our arrival.
