Nestled in the heart of Wales’s heritage, culture and countryside in Presteigne, this rustic period cottage bursting with charm is the ultimate romantic bolthole. It’s delightfully decorated throughout with artwork and furnishings creating a calming ambience, and it’s a perfect base for couples looking to spend quality time uncovering unspoilt countryside landscapes with their four-pawed third wheel.

Centred around a charming original inglenook fireplace home to a wood burner-effect electric fire, featuring rustic touches everywhere you look and a quaint beamed ceiling, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasts a truly peaceful ambience, reminiscent of a traditional country cottage. The charming period features invite you to hang up the leash to unwind weary walking toes and paws at the end of a long day of adventure whilst the contemporary décor of the stylish kitchen beckons you to get creative with your locally sourced treats. When you long to pause from chasing your tail, the king-size bedroom upstairs is a haven of pure serenity, featuring a soothing neutral colour palette and a charming sloping ceiling. Outside, little paws will go mutts for a run around the quaint courtyard whilst you enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of something chilled at sundown.

Set alongside the River Lugg, at the corner of three counties, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys, there’s plenty to keep your four-legged friend’s tail wagging in and around the medieval market town of Presteigne. Take the lead to explore Presteigne’s range of pubs, restaurants, independent boutiques and traditional shops with your pup to sniff out some of the best local produce this area has to offer. Have a ball exploring the great moorlands, narrow valleys and steep hills of Radnor Forest, 8.5 miles away, or join up with the iconic Offa's Dyke trail, 7 miles away, on foot or two wheels if your four-pawed pal can keep up.

What a beautiful, cosy cottage, so well equipped with all mod cons. Set in a pretty village with such friendly locals. There are many surrounding villages etc to visit too. The cottage is owned by an exceptionally friendly helpful lady who goes out of her way to assist with any queries. An ideal cottage for a cosy break for two!

A clean, cosy retreat with a nice welcome. It is just right for 2 x people for a few days. Presteigne is very nice and friendly with excellent local walking and some good cafes and friendly pubs (many are cash only so be prepared). Access to the yard is quite tight for large cars, but is OK if you are confident at reversing.
