This stunning period cottage nestled in the heart of the Presteigne is the ultimate romantic bolthole perfect for couples looking to uncover the culture, heritage and countryside of Mid Wales and its borders with their four-legged third wheel. It boasts a quaint, romantic interior filled with charming furnishings to create the perfect place to hide away from the world and unwind together in peace.

Flooded with natural sunlight from the large picture window and featuring a gorgeous wood burner-effect electric fire housed inside an original fireplace, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasts a wonderfully soothing ambience that beckons weary walking toes and paws to unwind. Hang up the leash at the end of a long day and lose yourself in the allure and period charm at the heart of this home, from the rustic touches to the country-cottage aesthetic of the quaint kitchen. Lead the way upstairs to find the super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin) which features cosy, crisp linens and views across the rooftops that’ll lull you into a peaceful slumber, dreaming of tomorrow’s walkies. Outside, enjoy dining alfresco in the courtyard whilst playful pups let off some steam before bedtime.

Striding the Welsh/English border at the corner of three counties, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys, the medieval market town of Presteigne is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and rolling hillsides set alongside the River Lugg, offering plenty of exciting new smells your canine companion will go mutts for. Get your paws dirty by taking the lead to explore the magnificent moorlands, narrow valleys and steep hills of the nearby Radnor Forest, 8.5 miles away. If your four-pawed friend can keep up, join the iconic Offa's Dyke Path (7 miles) on two wheels to find plenty of stick-throwing opportunities and breathtaking scenery along your journey.

This is a very small ( but we already knew that), comfortable and cosy cottage right in the centre of the village. The cottage has everything you need and is great value for money. Parking is a bonus, but the entrance to the courtyard is quite narrow and you have to reverse off the road through an archway into the courtyard. Lovely cosy warm little cottage. Really enjoyed our stay. Everything was there you needed. The owner was close to hand if you had any issues. Lovely lady. Backing your car into the courtyard was not for the faint hearted but was never a problem. Would highly recommend.

A very cosy, comfortable cottage in a great location in the town centre yet very quiet. A good base to explore the surrounding area. Good dog walks close by. Miranda, the owner, lives in the same courtyard and is always available if you need anything. Overall we were very happy with the property and will definitely be back.
