This rural retreat enjoys a peaceful setting on the rugged Gower Peninsula. The property sleeps six guests and is perfect for families and friends looking to explore this stunning corner of Wales with their waggy-tailed companions. The cottage is just 1.5 miles from a beautiful, paw-friendly beach, and you’ll also be within easy reach of the long-distance Wales Coast Path.
The former grain store, set on a working farm, has been lovingly transformed into a welcoming holiday retreat boasting original features, traditional wooden furniture, and homely touches. The central hub of the house is a bright kitchen/diner with a tiled floor and plenty of space to set up the dog beds. You’ll also find everything needed for rustling up hearty meals for the group, a large dining table, and a comfortable sofa for perching with a post-dinner tipple. In the evenings, retire to the inviting lounge, where an array of plush seating is set around a Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The remaining two bedrooms and the family bathroom are upstairs. Outside, bask in the sunshine in the patio garden, which has a choice of areas for outdoor dining. This space is fully enclosed for your canine buddies. Private parking is available for two cars.
There are some lovely walks to enjoy directly from the property, including to the fascinating ruins of Pennard Castle (1.5 miles) or the Neolithic site of King Arthur’s Stone Dolmen (4.5 miles). The Gower Peninsula is home to some of Wales’s finest beaches, many of which welcome furry visitors all year. Highlights include Three Cliffs Bay (1.5 miles), Oxwich Bay (4.5 miles), and Rhossili Bay (10 miles). The seaside village of Mumbles is 6.5 miles away and has a great range of independent shops and eateries.
