With a dogs-only field for furry friends, a huge, shared games barn and outdoor play area for younger children, it is a perfect location for the whole family. You can meet the farm animals and enjoy wonderful walks around three lakes in the surrounding grounds. There’s a large, shared lawn with a BBQ, ideal for picnics, and a dog-friendly pub serving food is less than 2 miles away.
The cottage has a lovely rural feel, with exposed beams and a delightful country-style interior. Relax on cosy seating in the bright and spacious living/dining room, with ample floor space for pets. The pretty dining area opens to a compact kitchen equipped for all your catering needs. Upstairs are two beautifully furnished bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite bathroom and shower over the bath, and a twin with an en-suite shower room. Outside is a sheltered patio with garden furniture and the games barn, with a snooker table, library and much more.
A bridle path from the farm leads to the Idle Valley Nature reserve (2 miles), where you’ll find tranquil lakeside, woodland and pushchair-friendly walks. A haven for wildlife, attractions for children here include treehouse play and den-building areas, a brass-rubbing trail and discovery back-packs from the cafe/shop. Dogs are very welcome but please keep pets on a lead. See the big cats at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (13 miles) and visit historic Gainsborough (10.5 miles) to explore the medieval mansion of Old Gainsborough Hall, the Old Nick Museum and an enormous model railway.
