Property code: OC-BN284

With walks straight from the door, you can be enjoying a tipple and a tail wag on the sun terrace one minute, and be on a path to the Sugar Loaf Mountain the next. There are stick chasing spots all around and you’ll soon work up an appetite to whet in the local pub (0.5 miles) before you curl up on the sofa and get cosy for the night.

Climb the gently stepped path from the parking area and make yourself at home in this welcoming abode. Get comfortable in the bright lounge and sit beneath beams (which will have your canine companion dreaming of sticks!) as you switch off in front of the TV and dole out regular tummy tickles. Throw open patio doors which lead to the terrace, a great spot for an al fresco meal and a tasty titbit, and bask in the last of the sun. The galley-style kitchen may be compact, but it has all you need to cook up a storm and rustle up tasty treats. It even has a coffee maker for those early morning starts and to give you the kick start you need if you fancied a lazy morning but your pup has other ideas. The shared laundry facilities (shared with the other property on-site) are great for washing muddy towels wet from drying off soggy post-walk fur, and for making sure your outfits are kept clean. You can also clean off in the shower room before resting tired heads in one of two bedrooms. While your four-legged friend has a snooze in the lodge you can head off to the private hot tub to enjoy some relaxation after a day exploring the countryside.

With 3.5 acres of pretty gardens and woodland to explore and access to the Sugar Loaf Mountain straight from home, spend hours exploring your surroundings before heading further afield. Enjoy a waterside wander along the River Usk and cross the 17th-century bridge at Crickhowell (2 miles) where you can also tuck into delicious food at a handful of dog-friendly pubs.

The cottage very nice quiet location and dog and family enjoyed the garden and facilities. Direct access to Sugarloaf mountain and trails. Local pub was welcoming, but you need to travel a lot find the quality, out the way food pubs on many narrow country lanes.

We had a lovely stay. It was a nice peaceful location. Has a footpath by the property that's takes you to Sugar Loaf Mountain which was a great walk. Really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Thank you to Mr Parks who was very helpful. Loved the little extras that were waiting for us on arrival.

Pleasant owners, good facilities, lovely and quiet with good views over the valley, and it was fun watching the pigs sleeping and snoring near the hotter. Being on the west facing slope, you're not woken early by the sun and is brighter later.

A nice property that is a good size and well equipped. We found it lovely and clean. A previous comment stated the log burner hot tub was more trouble than its worth, we managed to get a good fire going and it did take a good three hours to get warm, but once warm it was really good.

Stunning cottage, great location, well equipped, spotless!! Hot tub not great, but we were lucky enough to have use of the sauna which was amazing as Skylark was empty when we visited. Highly recommend this cottage for seeing South Wales

Lovely cottage with stunning views across the valley. Cottage has a well equipped kitchen if you feel like cooking. The garden is beautiful with many different types of plants in it. The hot tub was lovely with our lodge and had amazing views from it when you're enjoying it. The couple who run it are lovely and very helpful. Will be going again!
