  • Stunning barn conversion tucked away in a peaceful location
  • Explore the many quaint villages and beautiful countryside surrounding the property
  • Stretch your legs within the 16 acres of grounds surrounding the property by the river Avon
Property code: OC-77333

This charming barn conversion, in the heart of the Cotswolds, sleeps four guests and two dogs. The property boasts a peaceful location, with gorgeous views over open countryside. The dogs will love joining you for a morning stroll around the grounds and on day trips to the picturesque town of Lacock (3 miles) and the Roman city of Bath (13 miles).

The one-level property perfectly mixes modern design with the barn’s original features, and splashes of vibrant colour add warmth to each room. The accommodation embraces open-plan living, with a stylish kitchen area and cosy lounge. In the evening, sink into the comfy sofas with the waggy tailed ones curled at your feet, and enjoy a film on the TV. Outside, there’s a pretty shingle terrace where the dogs can relax in the sunshine and you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining. There’s also a pond with additional seating – a peaceful spot to devour a good book on a lazy afternoon. The hounds can join you for a walk around the 16 acres surrounding the property – just remember to pop them on a lead.

A trip to the unspoilt village on Lacock, 3 miles away, is a must. Much of the village is National Trust owned and you can step back in time and wander around the medieval streets with your canine companions. There’s also a dog-walking area in the National Trust car park. The grounds at Iford Manor (14 miles away) are also worth a visit. Dogs are welcome to join you in the stunning Italianate Grade I-listed gardens and can sit with you outside the tearoom. There are some great dog-friendly things to do in Bath, such as the National Trust’s Skyline walk with superb views across the city. You’ll also find plenty of dog-friendly eateries.

Barbara was a fantastic host. Warm, welcoming and anticipated all our Christmas needs, even with a tree! The cottage itself was exactly as described, beautifully converted from a barn, but with some period features retained for character. The location itself is stunning, from being in town to suddenly being in the country. The beds were comfortableRead more, the place clean and extremely well stocked to be able to cook a complete dinner for a family of four. Would highly recommend & stay again in future! Hide

Cottage was ok except not a lot of room to move in main bedroom, bed too big for size of bedroom, not a lot of work service in kitchen also if you have 4 people stay you would end up with a stiff neck watching the tv on one of the sofas. The just, Barbra we could not fault, very friendly and accommodating.

Deer Cottage was cozy and clean, set in a beautiful countryside environment. We used Uber to get around to all the surrounding villages in town and it worked perfectly, did not have to rent a car. We would recommend this Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the beautiful English countryside.
