Property code: OC-CC059

Sitting in the pretty village of Cote, this beautiful cottage has maintained much of its original charm. Sleeping eight people over four bedrooms and welcoming two waggy-tailed friends, this barn conversion boasts a cosy atmosphere that’s perfect for families or groups of friends who want to get together and relax in the heart of Oxfordshire. And with a lovely enclosed garden and patio, you can bet that your furry friends will love it.

Located in a complex of rural properties, this spacious cottage is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Prepare a group dinner in the well-equipped kitchen and dine at the farmhouse table in the dining room. Alternatively, head through the patio doors and dine alfresco on the delightful enclosed terrace as your pups enjoy the freedom of the garden. Chill out in the country-style lounge – an exceptionally cosy place due to its original limestone wall feature – or head to one of the four stylish bedrooms for a good night’s rest.

Take your pups for a star-studded stroll in the bustling village of Bampton (1 mile), which stood in for the fictional Yorkshire village of Downton in the hugely popular Downton Abbey series. Alternatively, treat your hounds to a romp around Blenheim Palace (14.5 miles). Although dogs are not allowed within the palace grounds or pleasure gardens, the parkland surrounding Blenheim Palace is beautiful, free to visit and utterly dog friendly. Or stretch your legs on the Bernwood Butterfly Trail (22 miles). This 2-mile hike through ancient meadows and hedgerows is famous for the quantity and variety of its butterfly residents.

The house was large yet cosy and had everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. The location was absolutely beautiful, in the heart of the countryside with sheep in the paddock nearby. The owners Pippa and Will were extremely accommodating, flexible and very helpful both before and during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Orchard Read moreBarn to family and friends. Hide

The space was a major asset for our family of grandparents /parents and children. Kitchen had all the equipment needed to cater for a family of 7. The bedrooms also are a good size and the ensuite shower downstairs was really powerfull. Patio was also good for a bbq if required. All in all excellent for our requirements.
